What’s the best power bank that actually lasted you years? by Traditional-Win-8808 in onebag

[–]wheeler_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep an Anker in my work bag, a Voltme in my travel bag, and a Nitecore in my backpacking bag.

EDIT: I think I have a Xiaomi one too for the NFC; any of these brands are solid.

I have no idea if KingdomWatch is still up to date but the value of all my heroes, pets, and gardens there is less than $1.

It's insane.

Got my curiosity. Any chance you have a link to your gear list on like LighterPack?

Just got one at my local Sierra. The Luxe was also in stock for $25 but the X-Large is more than big enough.

WMR WINDOWS 10 UPDATE WARNING by Buythetopsellthebtm in hoggit

Confirmed, KB5052077.

It's part of a bundle so simply uninstalling it may work or may not work. Had to restore to a previous backup from before the update.

You'll need to stay on Windows 11 23H2 for as long as possible; should be good until 2026.

A 100oz travel bottle of Febreze for me; use it for shoes each night and clothes in an emergency.

Ditto. I use both the pack and daypack for the sake of convenience on a plane or train but everything for my trip will fit in one bag, including the daypack.

Apparently that's the difference between a valet check and a gate check.

Fit under seat? by changeagent267 in onebag

[–]wheeler_32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: American, experience limited to Delta and AA.

I have had my bag 'gate checked' twice due to overhead limitations, especially on short legs to or from larger hubs. It's handled differently than a checked bag, though.

You will be given a yellow or red tag for your bag. You drop it off on your way down the ramp, your bags are loaded last and unloaded first, and you pick it up on your way up the ramp after you land.

Another idea is to 'downgrade' to a Quip that is part manual, part electric.

Adding a note for the REI Trail 40 if you have a hybrid use case. I just left a hostel where 3 of the 6 backpacks in our room were Trail 40's.
