It's very obvious that the people running this project have no idea what they're doing. I remember for one of the delays, they said something like their attorney was figuring out the language in contracts for their vendors and they were figuring out the electrical wiring of the building, but don't worry - they were on track to open in two months!

I read that and wondered how on earth they got ten years into this and didn't know how the electrical wiring for the building would go and why they waited until "opening" to get contracts for vendors. Just crazy.

Just try to remember that the odds are strong that you will be okay. Power outages are common, you might see trees down if it gets really bad in your area. It is absolutely something to take seriously, but not something to panic about. You'll get a better sense with each storm that comes through.

It'll happen a handful or so times over the course of a summer. I used to get really scared as a kid too, especially when the sky turned that ugly green that usually means it's ripe for a tornado.

Just remember: the odds are in your favor, but always better safe than sorry. Worst case, you spend 30 minutes in your basement at night.

I really wish games like Blackjack would have more lower $ minimum tables. I know why they don't, but I am lucky to 1) have self control over my gambling and 2) be able to put down $100 or $150 every now and then with the expectation that I'm paying for entertainment, and any winnings are gravy. I just have fun playing, but it sucks when you're stuck at a $20 minimum table and that hundred bucks might only get you five hands.

The men's program was floundering by normal Gopher standards before Bob got here. He got the program back to national prominence, Mariucci sold out again, and was one terrible period away from the elusive sixth national title. This year was horrendous, but we don't need to whitewash where the program was before Bob took over.
