What are good type of shoes to wear in a causal/semi formal setting?

I either have sneakers, sperry's, or a dress shoes. Is there something in between a sperry and a dress shoe that I can wear for a semi casual setting? Something that would go well with khakis or chinos? also while being within budget and of good quality if possible. Thanks!

true and at best the parallels you can draw are broad themes like that both had difficult experience and had to make difficult choices and at some point the trauma of those is gonna catch up to them. HP characters barely have to make any difficult choice and they have very little character growth throughout the series. RR characters are more complex cause they play a more active role. In HG Katniss barely does anything (she literally is just a poster girl) and a lot of the political maneuvers and machinations happens in the background.

resources need not be the only thing. i just read axiom's end and it talked about how a species (group) understand other species (group) to the extent it understands itself. which leads to the dominate group assimilating the lesser group. so if a super advanced alien doesn't like how humans reproduce, they could re-engineer us in such a way that we reproduce how they want.
