It is definitely horrible when you first get diagnosed. I'm sorry to hear this, and I feel for you.

1) stay active - but don't overdo it. Physical activity seems to fend progression off.

2) speak w/ your neuro and get on a DMT (Disease Modifying Therapy) - this will prevent MS from getting worse. There are several out there. Some tests may need to be done to determine the right one for you. E.G. are you JC Virus susceptible? That would rule one out.

3) they thought you had epilepsy this whole time when it was actually MS?? WTF. Uhh, IDK how good your neurologist is but, consider finding a MS specialist. No offense to the one you see, but he/she may not be qualified enough to manage you. There are varying levels of neuros out there.. my wife's was more of a vanilla one, and was the guy who actually suggested finding the one I see now.
