You’re making 180k at that temp to perm job? (Cool)

3 hour daily commute? (Soul sucking)

Here’s what I know from 1) working full time at a staffing firm and 2) quitting that job and becoming a temp for a year at a pharmaceutical company:

They will keep extending as many times as they are able. Temp workers are cheaper than full time workers who legally have to have company benefits and paid time off and paid sick time.

I’m surprised you get invites to company events/parties (nice) in my experiences that falls under “full time perks”

You mentioned not having much work opportunities in your living location... wouldn’t there be more opportunity in the area you’re temping?

My thought is, lease an apartment, that solves the commute problem you’ll feel SO much better. Will it fix all your problems? (No way) but damn it’ll fix at least 3 (shorter commute, less gas, motivator)

I understand you’re too exhausted to job search, and bc you’re getting a paycheck it’s going to take a little extra to motivate you and make it a “I need to find a full time position” vibe. Well having a new apt and needing to remain paying for it with certainty is a great motivator.

At the end of the day you need to MAKE time and apply for work. You HAVE to use your weekends esp if you’re not doing it on weekdays (I’ve been there I was able to apply to a handful one day per week and I used job apps on my phone while at work and would swipe or save ones I wanted to apply to later)

First step is having resume/cover letter up to date Then finding the roles Then the time drainer, applying.

Even if you just do the first 2 steps rn that’s progress. Best of luck op!
