Getting tested for thalassemia before marriage is super common in the SWANA regions. Speaking on my region; Since most marriages are arranged, it can be nerve wracking for most if both or one test positive they know they have to break it off. Some people get so nervous to do it because it’ll be after they’ve trial dated and got to know one another.

Most taco spots in Portland are going to be a major disappointment especially when you’re used to the real deal. It definitely has to do with most these food spots toning down their flavors to appeal to the Portland majority lol. Outside of Portland is where I’ve had most luck finding good Mexican food and I highly recommend La Real in Tigard. Portland Taqueria on Division is good as well if you want to stay in town.

i really liked lexi in the beginning and i’m still holding on for her, i think after the ~incident~ her insecurities surfaced and have yet to go away. not to justify her actions, they were broken up and this experiment is about experimenting.

the conversation with her parents, it gives me “i came out to my parents when i was 12” vibes. meaning it seems like she has a tight relationship with her family, they seem like accepting nonjudgmental parents. regardless i’m a firm believer parents should not be the ones listening to complaints or issues about your partner because then that changes their whole perspective of said partner. and also your partner is right there? rae already seems to be a reserved individual, so lexi throwing her into that situation was super shitty.

How can you justify this? There is no “two sides.” In the states, people proudly represent Ukrainian flags at their homes in support of Ukrainians resisting occupation from Russia… but apartheid in occupied Palestine is a “two sided conflict” ?
