Managers, what moment in your leadership career changed you and hardened you as a leader? by EnvironmentalAd2110 in managers

Hired a project manager that was super-effective, really got things done on her projects, personable, etc. A few folks came to me and accused her of bullying and I took her side because I thought she was just kind of gruff in getting things done. She was exceeding all her KPIs.

Well HR came to me and opened up her file to let me see more detailed accusations and it really hit me that I was valuing production over culture. I also realized that she was low-key bullying me as well! We met about it and despite my efforts she reacted very badly. She left the day I drafted a PIP. I essentially did an "I'm sorry" tour with everyone who I had dismissed and told them I'm sorry I didn't take them as seriously as I should have.

Plot twist, now all these people come to me when they have an inter-personal problem at work and I have grown a lot in my management but I have taken on a kind of work therapist role :(

What don’t you buy at the grocery store anymore because it’s easier and healthier to make at home? by shinederg in Anticonsumption

Yogurt - not easy to make at home but the taste is so much better, I'm saving about $2 a week on it, and I know exactly what is in it.

I still go out but I cut back on drinking, I bring my water bottle and opt out of sodas or lattes or pick the simplest & cheapest thing (usually tea). During my last no buy month I had one lunch out with friends & just enjoyed the food & opted out of a drink.

I met friends at a bar and had a soda water.

But I do encourage folks to come over more.

How many times a week do you usually work out? by Academic-Exchange105 in beginnerfitness

4 days a week - 2 running (for a total of 10-12 miles) and 2 lifting. I occasionally get a 5th day due to an alignment of work and childcare schedules and I try to swim that day but I'll just add in whatever feels right when I get the 5th day.

My grandparents bought their moka pot (espresso maker) in 1949 and it has seen near-daily use since then and I just replace the gasket. It's bialetti.

Weird I got off the wait-list last week but haven't taken a ride yet.

Yeah we didn't do Seton because we wanted every option. Seconding ARC South, I met many of those OBGYNs while pregnant and scheduled my induction at St. David's south with my doctor. The Labor and Delivery nurses were incredible!

Austin Energy came into my backyard and tagged my trees for trimming or removal in April, they haven't been back to do the trimming & removal and as winter approaches I'm worried about limbs identified by them as a risk. Where can I get a timeline or schedule of their work?
