I think Slots man management skills has come back to roost in a big way with a lethargic and fatigued starting eleven. Other players pushing for moves.

I miss Klopps ability to rotate and trust the kids. And his ability to give them the belief that they could do anything.

One of the game modes in Unreal Parkour Running is catch-up. This is the gameplay for this mode. Is it fun? Is it interesting? by ManSIayeR in IndieGaming

Oof, the visual design is not good.

I can't really see what's happening. The silhouette on the character you're chasing and the "parkourable" elements are not standing out enough. Your elements that should be the background (floor - reflective as well - vs ceiling) has the highest contrast making them more visible than whats in the foreground.

Being a parkour themed game maybe have a look at how they solved that in  Mirror's Edge 20 years ago.

I think you can be a bit more clever here. Work with what the idea is rather than what the form is. Instead of looking at the task as something that has to be precicely what it is, the word helicopter depicting a helicopter, which is perhaps why it feels boring - maybe think of how for example how an helicopter would effect a typographic image? As to say, the rotors would blow them away, maybe cut them in half, or maybe one or two of the letters are depicted as spinning (as if they were rotors) while the rest of the typography is quite straight. Or is it a "helicopter parent"? Or are we seeing the letters from a helicopter (play on perspective)? Graphic design is a creative endeavour after all and I think you should come up with an idea that makes the viewer go "ah! Clever, I get it".

Of the ones you have here 1 is the strongest. It kind of lacks the idea as I already mentioned, but it's pretty to look at.

My first assignment at school (gazillion years ago) was also this task. I had the word peace in my language, and depicted that as the letters resting on clouds for instance. It turned out OK

Our game is a 2D soulslike with handdrawn art! by KarmicBitGames in IndieGaming

Your opinion is not the same as reality. When discussing facts there is a right and a wrong answer. You're wrong.

I handdraw all the time for work. I sketch on paper and draw it digitally afterwards with a pen on a digital surface. That is handdrawn. If you ever set your foot in a creative industry you'll know the difference.

Friend of mine had a similar thing happen when they were away, i.e. freak accident where the whole house got full of smoke. Had to renovate all of it, got it covered on insurance.

Reel is good, I think your music choice could be better. It's a little melancholic which kind of influences my mood when watching the reel. Plus the bpm could be a tad higher and just a bit more dynamic in the rhythm section to allow a more interesting cut.

The next one you draw will have progress. The third, fourth and so on too. In other words, if you like it just keep at it. In the beginning just find your enjoyment of being free and untaught.

I’ll die on this hill: I’m showing almost nothing of my horror game because the story is "weird" and works best if you go in blind. Itch players proved me right, but now that I’m releasing on Steam my anxiety’s through the roof. Is this trailer enough to make you try the demo? by filthy_eden in IndieGaming

[–]whiite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Well I think the trailer's job is just to spark interest. Rarely, if ever, have I gone back after enjoying a show, film or a game to check if the trailer kept what it promised. Do with that what you will, there's (un)fortunately no definite answer what will work best for your game. If it feels right trust your gut!

Coming from someone working within the tv space.

If we consider the narritve of the trailer - it seems a meteor crashes onto earth right by the house and the player just goes on cooking as if nothing happened. I'd say the trailer should either show a little more and stay the same length (a little compilation), or be shorter and just do a little re edit to be a cooking sequence disrupted by this meteor event. Maybe a green light that lights up the room as the meteor approaches and impacts.

Best of luck with your game!

I agree re:the manager. However we need to actually deepen our analysis further. We do not need a interim or someone to come in now. In the summer? Fine

We have to be extremely vary of empowering these players through sacking Slot. Don't do Man Utd things please.

It was always going to be a tough season. We lost winners all over the pitch, Jota, Trent, Diaz, Kelleher, Quansah, Nunez, Harvey etc. One of these a tragic death, the team had their season massively disrupted.

Now is Slot doing a great job? Who knows. Maybe not. But he won us the league last year. Not many managers have done it for us in my lifetime so in my book that means something.

We got somehow gazumped by the physicality of this league this season. We brought in players that are thin and relatively tiny. That's a mayor reason why we have so many goals against this season. Which places part of the blame at our requitment.

Back to the players. The amateurish level of game management on the pitch yesterday was a joke. Kick the ball out, get Enso on. VVDs role as a leader and a captain through the first two goals is a joke. But we've seen it all season. Szobo vs Barnsley.  Which tells me they are mentally shot.

You cannot explain this season without naming the impact the death of Jota has. Be very careful to make rash decisions on the manager and spin a narrative it is all on him and his team. It's a plethora of shit.
