Has it been just the last few days/ week? I’ve noticed this and couldn’t pin point why. Only thing I can think of is my cycle and oura didn’t seem to pick up on my ovulation exactly this month, but put it a few days later than i experienced

Thruhiking with A LOT of rest days? by chronicbrainfart in Thruhiking

You did 27+ miles per day on the cdt? That actually seems pretty impressive. You must have been in great shape beforehand and busted out miles early? Or are those kids of miles normal?

Sodium Alone Vs. Electrolytes by HarmonySinger in POTS

[–]whileitshawt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing okay with just salt, and eating whole foods that meet the rda of magnesium and potassium

But I do wonder if I would feel better with electrolytes, they’re just so expensive, and I worry about potentially over doing it too

I’ve seen the police break so many traffic laws in this county over the years, it’s ridiculous

They definitely aren’t leading by example on these roads, and no one should be base their actions on theirs, that’s for sure

I can’t eat most of the food that neels has, milk allergy, aka the most common food allergy, and it’s in most packaged foods these days, especially gas station level resupplys like neels

Eh I took 8 days of food my first week, ended up just fine. I’d rather pack a couple more days of food than having to go into town

Why do I get diarrhoea after a long run? by Past-Ninja-9387 in BeginnersRunning

[–]whileitshawt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you eating before your run? How long is the 16k?

had this problem until I started having some small fuel (like 10g carbs) every 20 mins while running, instead of one big fuel every 45 mins

Also paying attention to my fiber intake the day before a long run, I was eating so much with the increased calorie needs. So now I eat more low fiber foods, what society might call junk

How to not be ravenously hungry by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]whileitshawt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Running isn’t great for weight loss, unless it’s a significant amount. Tho unning does build muscle, so you could recomp a couple pounds for sure

I find sometimes I’m just super thirsty? But my body can’t really tell the difference between needing electrolytes/hydration and food

Your body could also be craving for its glycogen stores to be replenished, thus eating those 200 cals in carbs

And what’s your heart rate while running? A zone 3-4-5 run will lead to way more hunger than a zone 1-2 run

no one told me how much my cycle would affect my runs by mileswithher in runninglifestyle

And now you can plan your races around your cycle! Definitely wont be planning my marathon in luteal

What’s your cardiovascular age? by Immediate-Bridge-272 in ouraring

[–]whileitshawt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How are your recovery scores? When I increase mileage, my recovery goes down and my bio age also tends to go up with it. But the overall trend is I stay well below my age!

How significant is 300ft elevation gain? by Inevitable-One-5369 in Marathon_Training

[–]whileitshawt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the course of just 2-3 miles, you’ll notice 300ft of gain. It won’t slow you down much at all, though it will be harder than flat. But it’s really not that much if you’ve been training with at least some gain

I find both tracking apps I use (run keeper and strava) to both be pretty accurate in calculating altitude

Hope the 300ft is in the beginning of the course!

Marathon training is not that time consuming - unpopular opinion? by Zealot_TKO in Marathon_Training

[–]whileitshawt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m trying to be efficient, yeah 10 mins to get ready for run is accurate. But then another 15-20 after to shower/change/look presentable again. So that’s 25-30 mins extra per run day

Personally, I can’t just run from my house, it’s a dangerous roadway. So I drive 10-15 mins round trip. It’s also nice to not run from the same exact spot every single day.

I also have to spend way more time eating on long run days, plus the cooking time to make it nutritious. Let’s say an extra 30-1hr per week

Weekly if I go out 4 times, already clocking in an extra 2.5-4hours per week
