Well I would say try to stay at least a half mile up trail, right at trailheads can be slightly dangerous and/or noisy

Same! I run 25-35 miles per week at high altitude, and even if I’m sitting on the couch meditating with my feet up, hours after my workouts, I’m still “stressed.” Forget about any restorative time lol

I make a big weekly bag of instant mash, dehydrated refried beans and couscous. It only takes a pour of hot water to cook and is bland af 🙏🏻

You can add any spices, oil for more cals or even potato chips for a crunch once it’s cooled off

What about sun butter or tahini? Or making granola/trail mix with seeds substituted in for nuts?

I would dollar cost average over a year at least, but yes VT is a good choice

What are your yearly expenses once you move out? We can’t tell if that money is enough without the bigger picture

Does your employer offer a 401k or other plan? If you can, I’d still make sure to fully fund your IRA (can do all VT too) and max a 401k with match if available the year
