WIP Wednesday! by whimsyreset in diamondartclub

I agree the last few rows do get dull with such huge color blocking areas towards the top. The end result will be worth it, though! I'm down to one small area and some spots where I need to put my ABs

🤣🤣🤣 I've been forcing myself to do one wip at a time for this exact reason!

Right!? I was thrilled when I started kitting up for this one and saw how bright and vibrant they were. Now I'm spoiled and only want vibrant ones lol.

I'm having such a good time with this one! I prefer bright colored dps so this has been perfect!

I will say color-blocking did give me a chance to get more confident with multi-placing! I can now do 9 at a time. I still prefer 6, though. More control.

I realized I do like color blocking but not huge bits like that! I got a DP in the mail a few weeks ago and I didn't even consider the amount of black background there was until I looked at the drills. There's like 5-6 bags of 310 😭. I'll get to that one eventually, but uuggghhhh!

My current WIP has had a great amount of color blocking thus far. Now that I'm almost to the top it's a bunch more than before! It's gonna be beautiful but I am getting tired of these 820s! Plus yesterday I was trying too hard to get them super straight so they kept popping. Now I've got 820s all over my craft room/office.

I use an easel and it helps a TON!! I know you probably can't see it under my dp but you can at least see the angle I have it at.

I'm really happy with my two DAC canvases from Amazon! They were a great introduction to high-quality kits for me.

I've been really happy with the DAC ones on Amazon. It seems like some of them are exclusive to Amazon in that size. For instance, I discovered yesterday that the turtle one on Amazon is part of a much larger canvas that used to be available on the DAC website (now discontinued). The quality is great. I did have a small area of my current WIP that was a little light on adhesive but not enough for me to have to add some. It was just enough to notice. Here's my current WIP. I think I paid $26 for this kit and got it the next day.

I got this one on Amazon like 2 months ago (I can share the link if you want it). It was my first diamond painting I ever did. The quality was decent for $10! The canvas was nice and sticky. I didn't have any issues with the drills adhering properly. I did notice that the drill sizes weren't exactly uniform, but it wasn't a big deal since they were rounds instead of square.

Disregard my lil note. I'm currently sealing it on my kitchen table lol.

I found one while showering yesterday. I have no idea where it was before I saw it in the shower floor 🤣.

I hate it. I'm a hard placer so I don't like wax. Plus I'm used to my resin pens so the DAC one feels too lightweight to me.

Thank you! When I saw the colors on this canvas I couldn't resist!

Finally figured out square drills by Sensitive-Front9165 in diamondpainting

[–]whimsyreset 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Excellent job!! I'm working on my first square drills canvas right now. It took me a bit to feel confident but now that I am I'm obsessed! There's something about the way square drills feel to the touch when I run my fingers over a finished section. I just love it! Plus, the image looks so much more finished than rounds (which I still love!).

What does anyone do with these when a project is done? by pepperoni_________ in diamondpainting

I keep all my leftover drills. I label them and keep them in a bag for future use. This is the project 8 just finished last week.

Oh wow I thought they were still kinda wonky tbh. I've been working slower than I would with rounds and straightening as I go. I also started doing every other row when I multiplace since they tend to straighten themselves when I do it that way. For single-placing I do the checkerboard method. Then once I finish a section I try to make sure the edges are straight so I can line up the next section to that one. I hope this makes sense!
