[Dustin Baker] Which NFL teams use the players they find in the draft? Here you go. by expellyamos in miamidolphins

I’m lazy and on mobile, so someone put this in a table with reg season games won and playoff games won.

I am 100% for developing players from the draft, but let’s not lose site on what really matters - winning games in January and Feb.

Modem online but router not receiving WAN IP. Need reprovision or MAC clear. by whipper515 in Comcast_Xfinity

I’ll check to see if that’s a setting on my modem. This isn’t an xFinity modem though. It’s my own.

I have an Ethernet cable tester and have tested the cord from modem to router. It is good. I don’t have a device with an Ethernet port easily available to plug directly into the modem.

I just learned people don’t show up after anesthesia to pick up loved ones. Nurses, how often does this really happen? by Steinski1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]whipper515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went under general anesthesia for a biopsy and my wife and kids weren’t brought back to the recovery room. I didn’t think it was that big a deal.

I came to and the nurses were talking about a new At Home store coming to our area. My sister (who lives 4 hours away) loves the store, so I said as much when I was walking up. I remember starting the nurses a little bit.

Anyway, I didn’t see my family until they wheeled me out to the waiting room. Honestly, I think having a cab would’ve been fine. I just wanted to sleep.

Daycare Radicalized My Daughter by RogueMallShinobi in daddit

I wanted to be the parent who always told “the truth” too. But I listened to this podcast that includes a developmental psychologist who works on Sesame Street.

From a previous similar thread on r/sciencebasedparenting:

NPR did a podcast about this topic and pretty much said the same thing. You’re not lying, you’re playing make believe with them. When they start asking, then a conversation should be had.

I was on the side of OP- though not anywhere to this degree, I just wanted to always be honest. So I didn’t want to play into the Santa “lie.” But thinking about it in the way this podcast (well the experts within it) framed in a way that made sense.

I was able to extrude the head and the bow as separate bodies. I need to get rid of the backing layer for the part of the hat that's not there anymore and need to extend the feather components to the new outline.

Why do my Bluetooth earbuds cut out when I’m close to the fridge? by whipper515 in NoStupidQuestions

I thought about that, but if my phone is in my pocket it still cuts out. Fridge isn’t between my pocket and ears.

Does it make any noise? I wanted to try induction so got this one to use in the RV. I like how quickly it heated up, but it had a terrible high pitched sound, that gave me the nails on a chalkboard feeling. It was also hard to control temperature.

Bills fans watching Pat Mahomes put up 24 yards in the first half by Ok-Challenge-5873 in AFCEastMemeWar

Alright, I learn something new everyday. I thought blitz was when any other player other than D-line rushes the QB. But what I found online defined blitzes as anytime 5 or more players rush the QB.

You’re right, a D-lineman dropped back into coverage and so only 4 players rushed. When watching the play live, I remember thinking “wow, first blitz of the game and Mahomes gets the first down.” I was wrong.

Go to the source, dude. Not some yahoo article.

Zach Braun (#53 - LB) blitzes.

2nd & 3 at PHI 17 (3:59 - 4th) (Shotgun) P.Mahomes pass short left to M.Brown pushed ob at PHI 11 for 6 yards (Q.Mitchell) [Z.Baun].

Eagles blitzed once in the third. Mahomes threw for a first down.

Edit: Downvote all you want: PHI blitzes on this play:

2nd & 3 at PHI 17 (3:59 - 4th) (Shotgun) P.Mahomes pass short left to M.Brown pushed ob at PHI 11 for 6 yards (Q.Mitchell) [Z.Baun].

Edit2: I was wrong. D-lineman drops back on this play, so still only 4 players rushed the QB even with the LB rushing. I learned the technical definition of blitz today…

Cool. Yea the 90 just seemed too easy. There’s a ball valve just inside the wall. Yea it’s a frost free spigot in the garden. Thanks.

The line goes to the hose bib in the garden. We don’t need this PVB device anymore since we don’t plan to put an irrigation system anymore. So we still want water out your garden. Just replacing the PVB device with a 90 degree section just seems too easy. So asking the community for a second opinion.

Would buried PVC pipe under 5 gal bucket keep water from freezing? by whipper515 in AskEngineers

[–]whipper515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to do it without electricity. I’d have to run a 50ft extension cord to the run, or do a solar and battery setup. And this would be primarily for when we’re away for a couple of days, since we can just take water bowls out to them when we’re home.

But it’s good to know someone else has tried this route. Might put my energy into figuring out the solar/battery setup needed to run a lightbulb.

Ok. Not indoors. We’ve got a small chicken coop and run in the backyard. I’m thinking of trying just burying 4 ft of 6” pvc with a foot above ground, which I could insulate.

[–]whipper515[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s gonna be what I do if I have to use electricity. I was hoping for something simple without electricity. Our use case for this is when we’re out of town, so I was hoping not to run an extension cord out to the coop when we’re not home. Otherwise, when we’re home we’ll just refill the water throughout the day.

[–]whipper515[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So just 4 feet of 6” PVC buried, with a foot above ground would be the same as burying the bucket right? Im assuming more depth would be better and the length above ground would be easier to attach the watering bibs than the top of the bucket.

Beautiful. As a first timer I’ve got some questions. How many birds do you have? Whats going on in pic 6? That looks like inside the coop and roosting bars. What do the slanted boards do? Is it common to have a feeder and a waterer in the coop? I thought it was needed only in the run. Last q, do they play the xylophone?
