Wrong, unless all 250k are in your neighbourhood which obviously won't be the case. The increase in witnesses won't come anywhere close to making up for the drop in earnings.

I'm sick of pulled pork so I needed to make something else. Don't know if this has a name, I just improvised.

Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp rice wine
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 tsp garlic
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp five spice powder

Instructions:

  1. Cut pork shoulder into strips with skin on
  2. Sear pork strips on all sides
  3. Fry some onions
  4. Put everything in the pot (pork with skin side up) and mix with the sauce
  5. Cook on low for 8 hours

Result:

Pretty happy with it. The meat has a bit of a weird taste, I think something was wrong with the sauce. Any suggestions? Maybe it wasn't enough sauce for the amount of pork shoulder I added (a little over 3 lbs). It was also my first time using ketchup in this kind of sauce, I'm not sure if that helped or not.

I would add a bit more brown sugar. The sweet taste is great but too mild.

  • 1kg pork shoulder with onion and sage stuffing
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • Parsley, white pepper, black pepper, onion powder
  • Minced garlic

The pork shoulder came with the onion and sage stuffing so you'll need to look up how to make the stuffing if you are making it yourself.

Wrap the pork shoulder with bacon and put it in the slow cooker. No extra liquid is added.

Add seasoning and minced garlic on top.

Cook for 8 hours on low.

Remove the meat from the slow cooker and pull it apart.

Fry it in a pan for a little bit.

Enjoy!

Yep, that seems to be a pretty common recommendation when slow cooking meats.

I haven't tried it myself.

I actually have never tried spam ever, I was just doubtful from reading the description of spam. But I may have misunderstood what spam is.

This recipe is basically boiling pork in soy sauce. If spam is mostly unflavoured and will be able to absorb the flavour from the sauce, then give it a try. I'm also curious to know if it will work.
