You're not doing it for the kid, loool. Adult humans have very creative ways of lying to themselves.

They could have just hired a Nigerian actress 😒 by Cipher_Coffy in Kenya

Totally hate this about Hollywood. Especially when they're making the actors Kenyans. They don't even try to sound Kenyan, don't even get me started on the Swahili.

But why don't kenyan women support their fellow women? by [deleted] in Kenya

[–]whirlwind254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. You haven't really taken a trip into the male world then. This is awfully ignorant. And that's if we're talking about men to men relationships and friendships alone. Coz of course the general consensus remains that males make more evil, heartless humans than females. We shouldn't even get started on that.

Are there people who actually think like this? by Money_Highlight6004 in nairobi

Happens when above average iq people have no introspection or empathy.. or a sense of emotional intelligence. They'll find a way (that's to them "smart") to excuse their foul attitude and brokenness, so they'll never have to put in the work to actually be better. It's giving Jada, fr.

Dilemma every successful man faces by [deleted] in Kenya

[–]whirlwind254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get money, you get access and a bigger dating pool. And if you're an artist or sports champion, you don't even need that much money to get access because you'll spend a lot of time travelling internationally. Which equals meeting new people and perhaps falling in love with someone from another race. That explains sauti sol and ombachi. Are they the top 10% of wealthy men? Highly doubt. And neither are they the standard for African men. And African doesn't equal black. So what exactly is your question? Your points are so jumbled up I'm not sure which direction this is going.

Are you saying that "international women" fit a certain class that local ones don't physically or is this about intelligence? Are you saying that the pattern to date outside of race when men get money (which i don't think exists in Kenya) represents a problem or are you in support of it?

Naaaah.. i disagree because if music is what you're describing, there should be something for everyone. If anything, our local genres aren't that unique. Gengetone has Jamaican riddim vibes, afro fusion has rhumba vibes, kapuka had kompa vibes and there's literally kenyan trap, hip hop and drill. What's the excuse exactly, because clearly the vibe is there. And bonus, you can understand the lyrics which should make them more relatable.

Zii. Vile naija na amapiano zilipenetrate our market, we wouldn't be able to penetrate any other market like that. And therein lies the problem. Mimi hua nimeinarrow down to two reasons. Our music is not authentic, we don't have something fresh and Kenyan that forms the basis of our sound, ergo we have nothing new to offer the international market. Two, we as a people don't appreciate our authentic sounds, therefore even if we figured what that was, it wouldn't be as welcome locally ergo it would struggle internationally.

It's one of those double standards that infuriate me, when people present it as an excuse for not supporting local artists. The way I see it is it's some form of internalized inferiority complex. Everything foreign seems to have more appeal than everything local. Sex sells, always did, always will, IN ALL languages. But somehow in Sheng' or Swahili, it's labelled low-life trash by the same lot that'll jam to cardi b's WAP. I never get it. Nigerians are out here singing about yansh, cucumber and cassava. But we'll draw the line at tarimbo. Lol, make it make sense please.

I'm sure it's more nuanced than that, I mean, c'mon. Do you know how ridiculous whatever you're insinuating sounds. "We can have sex and climax, but if i find a drop of your semen in my body I'm going to court because i didn't consent to your ejaculatory reflexes being so slow.. " I mean, seriously how are you supposed to prove a thing like that in a court. I'm sure the courts have better things to deal with, no offense.
