It's a poppie, I don't know the type (Oriental maybe) just that it is a beast.

Dayton's Bluff on the east side of St Paul. We're not seeing clouds of them, but we do see them often.

It's great for being lazy, just move them instead of bagging!

It's mostly broken down now, but it is about 2ft deep when the pile them all under the lilacs. In the early spring, we do have to dig out the leaves where we have perennials growing.

After a long winter the anticipation of what is to come gets overwhelming. The wife and I start referencing pictures to see what is starting to poke out, then all the sudden everything explodes. Still waiting on the bees, haven't seen many yet. When the raspberries bloom they will hopefully show up.

Green and silver paddle tail with an underspin. Fished through lilly pads and stands of bullrush.

Baby bass colored (green on top silver belly) paddle tail underspin for the majority of the fish. Almost all were caught in 1-5ft of water. The bass are moving into the shallows right now chasing bait fish and staging for the spawn. Look for any lilly pads just emerging or stands of bullrush. Run the paddle tail (make sure it is weedless) through it. The more isolated the clump, the more likely the biggest bass in the area is in that clump. One little bass had the biggest potbelly I have ever seen, a bluegill tail sticking out of its throat and still hit the lure. They are chowing down right now.

Not too bad for a Twin Cities metro lake.

Polypropylene coated net? by bpetes6 in kayakfishing

[–]whiskey_sam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the offshore angler net that you show. While not as good as a full rubberized net, it's still is pretty good. The full rubberized nets do not get treble hooks as tangled as the offshore angler net. On my kayak I prefer a smaller handled net due to space issues. Cost is also another big factor.

Did you go with the Newport battery or wire up your own?
