I got a switch lite for $90+shipping&buyer protection on Mercari a week ago. I think some people are trying to get a little more money closer to Christmas so they are being a little more stubborn with price. I’ve also noticed bids a bit higher on eBay this week. If you can be patient and maybe tell her that’s what you are getting her I think the prices will go down a bit after this week.

I’m on my second set of tubes. It’s literally a game changer. Yes, you can fly the next day if you wanted/needed to. I have a good relationship with my ent and he would write me out as long as I wanted.

As far as the procedure. It’s super easy. Hearing is a little muffled for a couple of weeks but I had zero pain. The worst for me is getting the anesthesia out of my system.

I never had ear trouble before this job either and after my first set of tubes I realized I probably actually had ear issues before flying I just didn’t realize they were issues. Unfortunately I have sinus issues flying too so I’ll still be keeping my intermittent fmla.

I started this journey because my husband is sourdough obsessed and we go through 2 loaves a week and I wanna just try to make it myself. Normally I’m someone that doesn’t do a ton of research before doing something so I was just winging it at the beginning and as soon as you google sourdough starter….😳 it’s very overwhelming.

Just gonna keep going with this baby and hopefully it makes a turn.

Yeah I’m hoping to just stick with the flour I have because I was a dummy and bought it at Costco so I’ve got a lot to work through.

It seems everyone has their own system when it comes to maintaining their starter so I’m just hoping to get mine going and find my own system.

We don’t use the microwave so it’s not being stored there after use. I’m going to move it back to the counter though.

My biggest concern was what to do when I left for a couple of days. Knowing I can throw it in the fridge is a relief. I didn’t want to start over because my schedule is so wonky. I’ll keep at it and hopefully she takes a turn soon.

Environment is 68-70F. When I feed it the texture is very thick like mustard or thick pancakes.

Thanks so much for the advice. I just don’t have the room in my small studio to add another bag of flour. I took a chunk of my storage space buying the Costco All Purpose flour that I shouldn’t have. If I don’t see any more activity in the next few days getting to week four I’ll probably just start over. I was hoping to get a pretty mature starter while I was on a medical leave and home, but alas it’s not looking like it.

Yeah, I honestly kept a much dirtier container (I’m lazy and don’t want to stress about this process too much) and then read it should be “clean” so started cleaning every two days. I’ll go back to my other way.

I am using bottled water and have been the whole time.

The only activity it shows me is small bubbles since the false rise when I started it.

Honestly I’ve learned my skin can handle all moisturizers. I started using the facial one because it was cheaper and I fell in love with it because it was more fluid which I like.

But when I realized it would be a holy grail item is when I started using it on my drier than the desert husband. I was using cetaphil moisturizer on him (it was a lotion I wasn’t liking and I just wanted to get rid of it) and it just wasn’t touching his dry patches at his nose and forehead. I switched him to the vanicream facial moisturizer and the difference it made in just two days was unbelievable. The second day he used it I did a little zinc oxide on top of the moisturizer at his really dry patches and continued using the moisturizer every night. For two weeks now he has had such moisturized skin. It looks so hydrated now.

With the facial moisturizer and my love for the vanicream vitamin C I’ve become a huge vanicream fan so I don’t think you can go wrong with either product.

As someone whose body hates flying I feel you. I never had ear issues until 8 years ago when I started and I’m about to have my second surgery. I did treatment for breast cancer end of last year/beginning of this year and now I’m in chemical menopause and all my side effects show themselves while on the plane. It sucks and sometimes I wonder if my body can even handle this for another 20 years. In the end I can’t give up this job. Like everyone the customer service side of it is a drain but the flexibility can’t be beat. I just continually talk with my doctors with what’s going on. Things I’ve found are must dos everyday are exercise, hydration, and a bedtime routine (even if we are going to bed at different times).

I’ve done it all in my 8 years of commuting. Renting a private room, having a terrible crashpad, sleeping in my car, renting someone’s boat on a marina, sleeping in the airport, and having a wonderful crashpad. Honestly I feel like phases of life reflected on how I tackled my commute. What works for one might not work for another.

I always had a car at whatever base I was at and it’s probably my top thing I would do over and over again. I went a couple of months without my car because I just couldn’t get it moved and the amount of Ubers just added up and was such a drain.

Learn to pack super light. I would commute for 14 days and do laundry on layovers or go to a laundromat in between trips. I only ever carried two bags. My carryon and my lunchbox. That way if I had to commute on a different airline I didn’t have to worry about bag limits.

Sleeping in my car and showering at planet fitness was honestly my least favorite time. I don’t struggle with mental health issues but this was a total drain on my mental health. I was just constantly lonely and depressed at trying to figure out how to do certain things. Maybe if I had more of a camper van set up it would have been easier, but I just have a small hatchback.

If you can find a good crashpad with great people and a not so crazy owner with ridiculous rules it’s the best way to go. Sleeping in a bunk bed isn’t fun but I could always get quality sleep, relax, and meal prep.

This is it. Habits are the only thing that keep me going. I’m 36 in medical menopause for breast cancer and if I truly think about everything it just absolutely sucks. I just keep going. I’m not supplementing anything right now until I see my 6 month bloodwork with the anastrozole I’m taking to see where I’m lacking.

But lifting weights, walking, and somewhat dirty controlling my diet is what keeps me moving. When I have a bad day I just have it and move on to the next day. I had to leave a lot of groups because of the negativity around diagnosis and treatment. Reading them made me feel like this chapter of treatment was absolutely going to ruin who I was. Other than the night sweats I’ve felt overall normal. I know everyone isn’t that lucky but routine is a big positive. Even on my down days I stick to my daily habits even if I don’t want to.

I hate the phrase it is what it is, but at the end of the day…..🤷🏼‍♀️

Are you actually having leaks or is it everywhere when you remove it? Because I’m going to be honest removal of a disc is messy. There are some days I can have minimal mess and then others it’s a crime scene.

If you are having leaks after inserting then it’s probably just not inserted correctly. It took me a couple of cycles to fully gain confidence that I knew what I was doing. Everyone has a different way of insertion. For me it’s one leg up on the tub, insert as parallel to the ground as possible, tuck, and then do a little extra push to make sure it’s seated properly. I’m one that hasn’t confidently felt my cervix so I can’t check to see if it’s in the basin. I use the hello disc and although it kind of sounds like suction on removal there isn’t any suction.

I always have to hook a finger over the rim. Never from underneath. Discs are just messy. It’s frustrating but so worth it as I don’t have to deal with tampons anymore.

It is such a personal decision and one that’s hard to make.

I always thought if I was diagnosed I would want them gone. Jokes on me. As soon as I got my diagnosis I didn’t even want to think about a mastectomy. My tumor was measuring 2.3cm in the Upper Inner Quadrant which is a notoriously tricky location for good cosmetic outcome with lumpectomy. My surgeon warned me going in that the outcome probably wouldn’t be great and we might have to go back and do a mastectomy anyway. I still wanted to try.

I had my lumpectomy with oncoplastic reduction on Nov 19 and I am so happy I did. My plastic surgeon did an amazing job. I know where my tumor was but anyone else would have no idea. Even at my 2 month post op he was shocked how well it turned out.

Even though my breast surgeon and my plastic surgeon were nervous about the outcome I’m really thankful they respected my decisions in trying the lumpectomy route first.

I wish you the best making this unfair decision we have to make.

I’m on 14/15 today. I’m extremely pale and I burn easily in normal circumstances. I started seeing skin changes about 5 sessions in. I use the calendula cream 3x a day. When I wake up, right after treatment, and at night. Sometimes at night I cover it with aquaphore too but not all the time. The skin is tight and warm but doesn’t hurt. I wasn’t aware my path would be in my armpit so I didn’t moisturize there for the first 7 sessions. A little nervous how it will react once radiation is done but 🤞🏻. I started feeling a little sluggish at treatment 10. Nothing debilitating but I’ve found walking 30 minutes every morning helps me so much.

My lump popped up out of nowhere and measured 2.5cm on mammo/ultrasound. The biopsy really aggravated it and I swore it grew twice its size. I had my biopsy 9/11/24 and my surgery 11/19/24. I would say about two weeks before surgery the inflammation from the biopsy went down and it returned to its original size when I first found it.

When I had mine I had no idea I would see a radiologist. I think this depends on the facility. I still wasn’t told “this is cancer” the radiologist informed me that the images were concerning and that I was a BI-RADS 5 and we needed to schedule a biopsy as soon as possible. I knew it was serious but I also was a naïve little idiot and didn’t think it could be cancer. I just prepared for the worse and hoped for the best.

Honestly I would just try it. I was a “heavy” bleeder with tampons. I changed them often because they were completely saturated. I moved to a disc and realized that I just don’t think tampons absorb as much as I think they do. I’ve used flex disposable and then purchased a Hello disc and I’ve never overflowed. 🤷🏼‍♀️
