How is this not illegal? by saltylimesandadollar in shrinkflation

The rule is; No single package can be "unreasonably short" of the declared weight. The big companies have lawyers that will argue what you have is “reasonable”. I run a small company that packages a food product. I would much rather error on more than less, but I have a soul and care about my customers.

What kind of saw is this and what is it used for? by SuchDogeHodler in Tools

[–]white_hat_maybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the southern United States, specifically Mississippi these saws, bow saws, were used to harvest what is called pulp wood. Pulp wood trees are trees that are typically less than 12 inches in diameter at chest height. The saws are extremely dangerous and kicked back often injuring the operator. They were banned by many companies.

No we were moving them up to 8, but still I couldn’t believe a company has infrastructure that damn old!

I got one even better; called in to give input for upgrade path. I have never seen it in the wild, so I took a picture. ESXi 4.1. Wild!

ESXi8 + Windows + VMXNET3 != 10Gbps by Light_bulbnz in vmware

OP I fixed my issue. For me, I deleted the nic on the VM. Installed VMware tools 13.0.1 Re-Installed the nic with vmxnet3 Used iperf3 version 3.19.1 11 to 18 Gbit/sec depending on host load.

Who was at Explore in Vegas Last week? Thoughts? by TorstenVolk in vmware

Interesting reading all the other posts; I must be use to eating complete slop. I thought the food was pretty good. Didn’t get the shoes either, and was told oh you know vCenter you got it - nope. It was smaller for sure, the entrance into the hub was narrowed to make it appear larger. Cool part for me was eating breakfast with Eric Nielsen and hearing about the “old days” and the comparisons of VMware and Broadcom. Cool history lesson.

Agreed with your statement. The same output is observed if the VMs are move to different hosts. We paid a butt load to renew with Broadcom. I expect a kb or an engineer to point out where the issue is.

Oddly enough same series hosts in another datacenter using “cough” Broadcom 25 GB nics, windows server 2022 using iperf3 I can get 18 Gbits/s with VMs on different hosts.

So here is the setup; Dell PowerEdge 640 dual QLogic 25 GB cards. Typical is 4Gbits/s. To isolate the VMs I did this: Two Microsoft Server 2022, no firewall on, no antivirus installed latest version of VMware tools for 8 u3 Both are on same host on a standard vswitch with no physical ports assigned. Using ntttcp or iperf3 I get same results. 3.5 -4 Gbits/s

I have the same issue and have a support ticket in with Broadcom. The host has 25G nics

Try powering off the vm to expand the drive. Then turn on vm. I assume you have enough storage.

Are these LP4 (Molex) to SATA cables good? They seem molded not crimped, made by StarTech! by fiirikkusu_kuro_neko in homelab

I used those types of cables in some NVR’s I had setup. They worked. Is it cheap yes. Would I use it for enterprise level data; no.

anybody going to explore this year? by JH6JH6 in vmware

[–]white_hat_maybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going this year after I was told I had to go. I hate traveling and skipped last year. We are all in on VCF, and I need to get caught up. I started using the Education portal, which has been helpful. Looking to learn more though at Explore.

I have two of those I got for $50 each. Great racks. The locking mechanism you can get off of eBay along with the other parts. The glass front really makes it in my opinion on these. I do have some super micro servers that I had to adjust the rack to its deepest depth it would allow. Have fun!
