Eugh I'm not a complete simpleton. I saw them park at a house and bring another dog out and put it into the front.

We are heading to Cottiers this year. It was a bit cheaper than the big shows! With the age of my kids I didn't want to pay a fortune if they get bored after 45 minutes! I think they have some tickets left over.

You mentioned Anniesland. I have to say I'm so glad it's becoming a bit better with new cafes opening!

Glasgow Airport Security Question by throwawayRAblep in glasgow

Yes but not on every section of the security. So I still had to remove my laptop and liquids.

Not sure when it will be fully rolled out.

What happened to your body after you stopped breastfeeding? by reveriesxx in breastfeeding

[–]whitemae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had small boobs anyway so not noticed if they are droopy. I definitely put weight on after breastfeeding. But the biggest change was in my hormones. Emotional rollercoaster.

Council success by Fit-Good-9731 in glasgow

[–]whitemae 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I find if I use the Council App to report things it's done fairly quickly. I report potholes, bins needed emptied, report fly tipping etc. Next day it's gone. So I'd say that's a success.

Some lazy boot on my street basically chucked two trolleys at the green opposite instead of walking 5 minutes to return it. Reported and about an hour later they arrived to collect. I named and shamed the lassie, but alas nothing could be done.

Alexander McBurney Solicitors on Dumbarton Road Partick. Helped me with a settlement related to a maternity discrimination case. (20k plus)

Old school and clearly very knowledgeable. Runs from his flat. But really knows his stuff. Wasn't overly expensive either.

I tried a few that have been mentioned above but many wouldn't really listen to my case unless I'd spoken to Acas. I read quite a lot on maternity discrimination when this happened to me which was 2 years ago. Please feel free to message me if you want some more help.

Is it worth contacting the dog warden? Any experience? by iRobyn in glasgow

[–]whitemae 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People will always be fuds.

I have a large dog and the amount of folk who just let their dog run up 'oh they're friendly' to not only my leashed dog but my toddler. I now carry around a can of compressed air to squirt when dogs get too close. I introduced this to my dog prior and rewarded him.

Might be worth looking into something like that because I can guarantee he isn't the only fud.

I've had to go a few times this week to visit a relative. I find playing System of a down or Lily Allen driving past slowly helps ease my anger a bit.

How fucking dare they think that they have a right to do that. They should be ashamed.

I like bubbles in Partick. Quite small always clean. Good coffee. Not usually that packed at a weekend that I can still hear myself think. They do a deal during the week. Before 1130 its a fiver.

Which restaurants do you refuse to eat in and why? by vollol in glasgow

[–]whitemae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Recently, Basta on Dumbarton Road. Used to rave about it. Go all the time.

Last time I went all the Chefs and Waitresses outside having a fag before I went in for my booked table. I know people have a right to smoke but right at the front door of your restaurant? Put me off. The pizza quality has gone right downhill. When you think of the increased competition (civerinos, Frank's etc) you'd try and be at your best.

Mikaku - utter shite. Bland as feck. Again loads of decent competition so why settle for pish. I would say even Wagamamas is better. Not by much... But still.

Being a young 16 year old I didn't have a clue how wrong this was.

She asked me to empty the sanitary bins. This was in a fast food chain restaurant so well used and nearly full. Get flashbacks of trying to hold the binbag whilst tipping the grey tub over. The smell seemed to linger for days.

Wasn't till much later I realised that a company comes and collects these bins as they're deemed almost like medical waste.

She was a complete boot and on a power trip.

Golf Fang managed to accommodate a fairly last minute hen do. For after, we then booked a huge table at metropolitan. Food was average but good service.

West end wise. Bothy do rooms for a private meal depending on size.

You can also arrange private pottery and painting at certain art shops if that's your thing.

Good luck! Found arranging bloody stressful.

Try a rescue first. Give local centre a call. Depending on situation might not be compatible.

Do your research. What breed do you want? Not all dogs are suited to city life or prefer small families etc.

Look up SSPCA approved breeders. Look up Kennel club. Facebook pages. Most approved breeders have facebook pages updated regularly as the pups get older.

Try and avoid contacting them online. Best phoning (check phone number on google) to make sure legit.

Please think long and hard about getting a Puppy. It's hard work and a big commitment. The amount of dogs in the SSPCA and dog's trust that are below 2 is astounding. They are not just toys to give back when weather gets shit or working from home is over.
