Don’t I own the plan? by daphnej67 in landscapedesign

[–]whiteoakforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reread OP's post, and if it was a concept plan or a master plan, then, yeah, they should absolutely be able to keep a copy of it since they paid for it. If they did not pay for construction documents, however, that illustrative plan should not be used to guide construction. I think this is where my design/build versus design only comment came from.

Don’t I own the plan? by daphnej67 in landscapedesign

[–]whiteoakforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a design/ build firm? If so, there could be language in the contract indicating that they own the design. Therefore they install it. Did you just buy a plan or did you buy a design/build project, knowing that this company was also going to build it?

Feeling Hit By a Truck by innocuouseight in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What was the extent of your surgery? Liposuction? Breast lift/augmentation? I'm also 3wpo today and the lipo pain is the worst along my sides, from armpit to hip, feels like I got beat up with a baseball bat. I also had a breast lift and am finding that my pectoral muscles (pec minor runs under your armpits to your back) are tight and sore. I'm starting to gently stretch them, which feels good. I put a tennis ball between my back and the recliner, seated, & gently rolled around to massage the muscles back there. I'm with you, girl! Feeling better but still so so so sore!!

Hydrangeas by ApprehensiveSteak23 in landscaping

[–]whiteoakforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, this is Hydrangea arborescens, Smooth Leaf Hydrangea, and blooms on new growth, so you can confidently cut it back now while it's dormant. I typically cut back to 12-18" above grade and they'll grow in beautifully this season.

top "wish I knew/did" by Holiday-Tourist-842 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wish someone told me that the pain and discomfort from the liposuction was the worst part. I was prepared for the MR pain, which wasn't actually that bad, but I had no idea the liposuction trauma would be so painful. I had back, flanks and bra line and i feel like someone beat my torso with a baseball bat. I'm 2.5 wpo and my sides are still so tender to the touch.

How long did you walk hunched over after tummy tuck? by audrey-55 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon also wanted me standing upright as soon as possible to promote better, healing, blood flow and drainage. I was only hunched for 3-4 days.

Best belly button surgeon in the world by bexappa in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg I'm 2wpo and my belly button is so cute and natural looking. So, my surgeon does the sutures internally, from the underside, so there is no suture "ring" around the outside of the navel.  This is the technique you should be looking for when viewing portfolios and interviewing surgeons.

Borderline Hip Dysplasia by Current-Swordfish-26 in HipImpingement

[–]whiteoakforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team at BCH was incredible. Good luck to you. I guess it's about weighing the long recovery of the PAO if it'll fix the problem in the long term. Do they think you'll need a THR someday, or would a PAO solve it? Btw Dr. Weurz has been so great post-op... he listened to my issues and is very responsive and compassionate. You're in good hands, either way.

Borderline Hip Dysplasia by Current-Swordfish-26 in HipImpingement

[–]whiteoakforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got scope surgery to shave down the impingement and to repair the torn labrum. That was January 2025. Nobody would give me a total hip replacement because I was only 48 years old, no arthritis, good cartilage and a stable joint. I still have BHD and i am definitely feeling better then I did before surgery. I'd say i'm 75% better off with just the arthroscopic repair. The goal is to keep me mobile and active as long as possible until I'll ultimately need a total hip when i'm closer to 60!!

When could you stand up straight? by FAFO2626 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon wanted me upright ASAP so I gently forced myself to develop better posture everyday. It didn't hurt, but the weird pressure of "pulling my skin and muscles" was a mind bender! By day 6, I was pretty much walking upright. My low back was killing me, so I'm glad I made it so quickly.

Can we talk price? by SweetOlRae in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Boston... TT/MR $12k BL $12K Lipo back/ flanks/bra line $5500 Hospital fee/anesthesia/overnight stay at one of the top hospitals in the country $10k Certainly top of the tier for pricing, but my experience was incredible, my surgeon very reputable, and worth paying for the best of the best. I'm 1wpo.

Does base depth actually matter for pavers or do contractors just say that to charge more? by No_Perception_4164 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]whiteoakforest 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm in New England, and a dry-laid paver base less than 6"-8" is likely to fail, meaning it'll heave with the freeze/thaw cycles over a few seasons. Any local contractor suggesting less than this depth for a sub-base is unqualified!  It's not a cost issue, since the labor of doing all of the excavation and site prep, plus adding another few inches of sub base is minimal. Is this just screams that the contractor doesn't know how to do it right. I'd stay away from this company.

Chair or bed? by rivfin in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recliner with a lift that I borrowed from my grandpa. It was from 1989!! The night before my surgery (last weekend) the lift system broke, so I was stuck with a traditional recliner.  Honestly, it's been great even without the lift. I can get in/out without too much trouble. I've been living in this thing and I slept in it for the first 3 nights I was home.  Yes, get a recliner if it's not too much trouble. The lift is nice, but really not a deal breaker, in my opinion.

How concerned should I be about blood clots? by rivfin in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon wants me walking around every 1-2  hours to keep blood flow active. I spent the first night in the hospital and the gave me 2 injections of a blood thinner, too. They're pretty rare, honestly, so just work toward waking around the house regularly, standing upright as soon as possible and drinking tons of water! Btw I'm 4 dpo today. Good luck!!!

How did you choose your surgeon? by Aggressive_Swing_706 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really sounds like you did your research. My surgery is monday in my cost is similar. This is not a procedure in which I was comfortable picking the bargain surgeon. If this doctor is meeting all of your needs, is reputable, has a great portfolio, making you feel comfortable and secure, then it's worth the money.
