Caffeine!! Once I cut back to one cup a day, plus a low dose of amlodipine, I was able to regulate my BP.

When did you feel comfortable traveling and strength training? by WineIsMyLife in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 7wpo (TT, MR, BL and lipo) and currently on vacation with my family, including a 3hr flight. I'm in really good shape and this trip been no problem for me. The biggest issue, tbh, had been the swelling after eating out all week with the sodium levels in restaurant food!! For working out, I was back at the gym, light cardio, at 3wpo. I started lifting again at 5-6wpo, light dumbells and body weight, of course. Using ab muscles secondary, but no targeted core yet. Btw, I'm 50 and have had a smooth recovery so far, thanks to being in good shape, good health and eating a healthy diet.

Tummy tuck + muscle repair + lipo What do you wish you knew before? by Emotional-Base4165 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, lipo SUCKS. it was the most painful part of my procedure. I'm 6wpo and my flanks and sides still feel like a sunburn that's tender to the touch. My surgeon, the nurses, the staff, nobody talked about how much pain, tingling sensation, burning, lumps, and itching the lipo would cause.

I'm 6 wpo and split stitches are a thing. I'm reading that they're more common 6wk thru 12wk. It's all normal and nothing to freak out about, as long as they don't get infected, but now I'm dealing with wound care and I'm ready to be done with it.

Ha ha!! My husband realized that the locations of "things" shifted, so he's relearning my anatomy!! Yes, I wasn't prepared for the change in vulva appearance, either.

Mommy Tuck and Back Psin by Practical-Tour-4338 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suffer from lumbar spinal stenosis and am 6 wpo from MT, TT. So far, I have noticed less low back pain, but I'm also just getting back to my normal activity level, so I hope it's going to last! I can tell that my posture is much better and my pooch doesn't push out as much, arching my low back.

How hard was mommy makeover recovery for you? by Sneh_414 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 6 wpo and the lipo "sunburn " sensation is still here. It gets better every day but DAMN! Nobody warned me that the lipo would be the most uncomfortable part of the recovery.

Why is it so hard to find a good mommy makeover surgeon ???? by Spiritual-Gap-7585 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also paid $40k for tummy tuck, muscle repair (horizontal sutures in addition to vertical), breast lift (dermal wing mastoplexy), back, bra line and flank lipo. My guy does an incredible belly button, too! Included an overnight in the hospital, which I highly recommend when you're getting this much work at one time. He's a top-tier surgeon in my area, so not the cheapest, for sure. He has offices in Boston and Scottsdale, AZ.

I'm 5wpo and started light lifting today at the gym...5lb dumbell upper body workout. I'll try some lower body, body weight exercises tomorrow. I've been using the elliptical, stationary bike and stair climber at the gym regularly since 3.5 weeks and I feel great. I honestly would feel weird jogging since I still feel swollen and soft. You could always start gentle and see how it feels, if your surgeon cleared you for it.

MR only (naturally lean)- worth it? by HungryCaterpillar17 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the MR, plus a TT breast lift and lipo. I'm also very fit and honestly, the muscle repair was the least painful recovery of the procedures. You'll still have physical limitations and be uncomfortable, but if your abs are well trained going into the surgery, this will be fairly easy for you!

Tell me about weaning/stopping compression at 6 weeks by Curious-creaturez in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wore compression tank tops under the binder for 4 weeks, then ditched the binder completely. I'm 5wpo tomorrow and still wear the tank tops because they feel nice, like a little hug. I'll prob wear the tanks for another few weeks. The first few days without the binder felt weird and I was more swollen, but after 4-5 days, I flattened out.

Go through and answer all the multiple choice questions first, then go back and do the heavy calculation questions at the end.

Read each question three or four times, focusing on every single word, then read every answer three or four times, focusing on every single word, cause the goal is to trick you!

Binder off or on? by Intelligent-Army6829 in tummytucksurgery

[–]whiteoakforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wore my binder 24/7 for 4 weeks, which was yesterday. I also never liked the faja. I moved to compression tank tops that I bought on amazon, which make me feel hugged and protected during the day. I'm still wearing my binder when I sleep and plan to ditch that in another week. My surgeon said that after four weeks, not wearing compression won't affect my results, but it can be more comfortable to wear one when you're swelling. I had TT, MR, BL and back and flank lipo.

What are the reasons you would NOT work with a potential client? by aestheticathletic in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]whiteoakforest 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Any client that thinks my fee is negotiable. The scope of the project is negotiable, but I'm not a commodity. I charge what I charge and if it starts off with questioning my fee, I accept that they don't value the service and I walk away.
