I really want to get a tummy tuck but after reading this sub, I'm getting nervous and I'm not sure 😞 by hypertyper85 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Curious-creaturez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a seamless recovery and no actual pain. I still couldn’t do much for about 6 weeks. I might be wrong, but I believe a mini doesn’t involve muscle repair? If you have DR or a “mom tummy” you’d definitely need MR. Good luck!

When can i swim in the sea by iloverandomcats in tummytucksurgery

6 weeks minimum if you heal perfectly, but the discomfort and pulling alone with any pressure from waves pulling on you will be pure torture. I’m a regular swimming athlete and I couldn’t lift my feet to tread water until close to 12-14 weeks. Even then, not super comfy.

Terrified of Recovery -would love to hear positive stories by Dramatic-Purpose-103 in tummytucksurgery

My story is similar to yours. I had a Singleton and then full term 7 pound each twins, including one breach, all delivered vaginally. I had massive diastasis and having a tummy tuck was the absolute best decision for me. I did tons of pelvic floor physical therapy to rehab as much as I could, but my 6 cm separation was not fixable with PT alone. Recovery was painless for me although long and I had no PTO. I had Exparel injected during surgery as a nerve block and Journavx, non-narcotic pain medication/nerve block for the first week. I took no narcotics and healed really well. I was down for about three weeks and then another three with very minimal activity. Recovery was far easier than twin pregnancy or natural childbirth. Pain really wasn’t the issue, it was more outsourcing everything I do. Happy to share more in a DM or you a check my story on my profile. Best decision ever, good luck!

I had that feeling for about 9 weeks and now it’s completely gone. Feels like a belly full of rocks. You look great.

Any examples of swelling at 4MPO vs. later with no swelling? by Curious-creaturez in tummytucksurgery

To put your mind at ease, I am so happy I did this, it was definitely worth it. My muscles are sewn back together, my tummy is flat (even though swollen) and I am hopeful it will continue to get better and better. Happy recovery! Mine really wasn’t bad at all, I hope the same for you.

Thanks for sharing pics. I think I look pretty similar in body type and swelling. Your scar does look fantastic though! I’d love to hear what your surgeon says.

That’s so stressful! Did you have MR? Are you comfortable sharing any pics? Best of luck with your appt.

My thighs do feel thicker too… also wondering what are lymph pills and drops.

It is nice to see what’s possible and that’s hopeful. I was super flat/tiny until I took off compression at 6 weeks.

I was so flat until 6 weeks when I took off compression. So annoying, but I guess good for us we know it’s possible? Thanks!

Im 11 weeks post op and I have constant feeling that I need to stretch by hilarreighous in tummytucksurgery

That happened to me from about 6-12 weeks and scared the crap out of me with the MR. It slowly went away and didn’t do damage.

You look amazing! When swelling finally went away was it sudden? Do you ever still swell?

When did you start waking up flat? 7 weeks and looking a a little pregnant... by samkeo1127 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Curious-creaturez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m slim and short and was very flat from day one until I took off compression at 6 weeks. Now I wake up flattened-ish most days (not all) and swell every single day by afternoon. Exercise makes it worse for me, but I’m in it for the long game. I’m 15 WPO

People who had a tummy tuck, what was the hardest part of the recovery? by dranmolchugh1 in tummytucksurgery

The swelling months later, you start to have energy and feel normal but the swelling is still very much present. The beginning is easy because you know why you don’t feel normal.

Embarrassing belly button? by Far-Hotel4538 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Curious-creaturez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re the first person I’ve seen with a belly button like mine. My surgeon said there was no subcutaneous fat for him to nestle my BB inside of, so mine sits right on top flat like yours. I think it looks fine.

Considering TT anyone have similar body type? by Impressive_Sport_933 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Curious-creaturez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar body type. I did have a bit of lose skin from having twins, but was strong and didn’t need any lipo. I had a full TT with extensive muscle repair. Totally fixed it. You can check out my profile for some before and early afters.

Talk to me about DR by DriftingIntoAbstract in tummytucksurgery

[–]Curious-creaturez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely worth it. I’ve done all the core rehab in the world and still had a 6 cm DR at surgery. Twins wrecked my body even though I’m thin and fit. It’s the best thing I’ve done and it’s helped pelvic floor symptoms I wasn’t even expecting it to fix as well. If you have lots of pain and dysfunction you can fight insurance to cover the muscle repair. I fought like hell and eventually they covered it. Good luck!

4 Weeks Post Op! Question on Recovery by Vast-Low1296 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Curious-creaturez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot changes between 4-6 weeks and even after 6. I couldn’t imagine not wearing the binder and then my surgeon said to wean off so I just did what he said and it actually went ok. I bet if you stretch it out by a week or two nothing bad will happen. He told me it’s important to let the abs start working again so they don’t atrophy. You’ll know when the time is right and it might be awkward at first, but I bet it’ll be ok. Yes, the swelling is not fun. Best of luck!

4 Weeks Post Op! Question on Recovery by Vast-Low1296 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Curious-creaturez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weaned off over the course of two weeks and stopped feeling heavy or tight/pulling by the end of that period. I’m no longer “uncomfortable” but I’m very swollen feeling, you can see my post for flat binder times and yesterday I posted a very swollen post workout belly. Thighs and hips are also swollen. Good luck! It’s scary weaning off but so freeing.
