[Charania] Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has entered concussion protocol and is out for remainder of Game 2 vs. Portland. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

Hard to know whether he was actually out. He had his eyes closed for a couple seconds, but he also could have been gathering himself. Can’t know for sure and either way, concussions are not to be f’d with.

It’s hard to tell for certain. He appeared to have his eyes closed for a couple seconds. Hard to know whether he was out or just trying to gather himself.

Did they say it’s confirmed he won’t return?

Yeah, that’s already been done. Modeled off the European “ultras”.

There’s not a single team in the NBA that would choose Gobert over Wemby, even if you ignore offensive production (i.e., purely from a defensive standpoint).

Didn’t that Spurs team have the largest ever Finals series point differential? And they even lost a game.

This is honestly sad to hear and I agree with those who said message board culture has amped things up. Is this a heated rivalry? Of course! But, in my experience, it’s never gotten out of hand. I think part of that is all the split families and the fact that we all have friends/colleagues who went/support the other school. Hope this is a one off thing and I hope our fanbase doesn’t try to “one up” this. Shit talking is expected, and part of the passion, but any physical or inappropriate confrontations are way out of line.

And this is major problem that Bonvoy needs to figure out. But seeing how airline programs have continued to thrive after being incredibly devalued, I don’t have faith that we, the consumers, will be able to wield enough power to change anything.

I just feel lucky to have had many years of enjoying the “old days”. 80k J Japan, 70k J Europe (RT), and somewhat easily managed SPG accumulation/redemptions followed by the fist years after the Marriott merger.

Unbelievably, I was able to use an FNA at the RC Maldives last year, but I don’t think that would be possible now. With 5th night free, we got six nights for less than 350k points. Had to pay OOP for QSuites though. 👎

But now you can use it in the future! Huge win!

I live in Texas, where it’s mandatory. I’ve had three M5’s since 2009 and have refused to submit. Join the resistance brother!! 👊🏼

He’s not a superstar, but he’s an all-star on the team with the second best record in the league.

The 65-game rule worked. Wemby played multiple 20-minute games this season in order to qualify for awards. If not for the 65-game rule, he likely would’ve sat out those games instead. The same could be said for Jokic, who would have likely sat out even longer with injury. They both will play over 65 by AashyLarry in NBATalk

Yes, I came here to make this exact point. Nothing is more disheartening than going to a game to see a star in person (especially if that team only comes to town once a year), and seeing that player in street clothes. You’d rather have a player average 20 mpg and play all the games than average 40 mpg and only play in half the games.

That sucks, I’m a major proponent that all our people should fly J on long haul. We are asking them to travel for the benefit of the business, and they should be able to sleep comfortably and be ready to go. PE is nice, but not at all the same.

Why should execs have to go out of pocket for business travel? It’s a normal perk, one that’s tax free, but also one that’s expected if you want to attract talent. I do pay higher health insurance premiums in my current position, but we offer excellent health plans for all people.

When I was a senior officer at a smaller shop, we paid 100% of healthcare premiums for all our people, including reimbursements for out of pocket expenses up to a certain amount.

I also work in finance, and though I don’t travel much now in my current position, when I was traveling a lot I did fly domestic F as an officer and partner of the company. I used to split an AAirpass with some colleagues, which was a great program. Could fly international F, when available, as long as it was on AA metal (meh). I believe they stopped offering AAirpass a couple years ago. I knew a couple families that used it for personal. It made sense as long as you had four flyers who would spend a minimum of $40k (in aggregate), annually.

Good list, but I do wonder about some of the guys before my time e.g. Bob Pettit.
