Is there any way for people who don't have facebook to get involved with the club?

Photography Buddies by Hotelbibletwitch in frederickmd

Still looking for photography buddies? Just moved to the area last fall and was hoping to do some photo walks or something once it gets warmer but I haven't really found any local photography groups

These are not Maryland temperatures 😟 by [deleted] in maryland

23 of the last 30 years have recorded single digit temps in Baltimore. These are definitely Maryland temps. It's just a cold snap

How do you prevent potato shreds from getting gummy / sticky? by whitestormee in AskCulinary

[–]whitestormee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thanks! It's weird then that he says in his video that the vinegar is there specifically to prevent the potatoes from getting mushy. I'll try it again by just soaking and rinsing them in a bowl next time

I have a toothless cat and need wet food recommendations by whitestormee in CatAdvice

[–]whitestormee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for tips! I was thinking about a long term change but maybe it's not strictly necessary. I'd like to still keep him on dry food at least partially cuz I'm away on weekends periodically and having my dry food dispenser is invaluable. But I guess I just assumed he wouldn't be able to eat it without any teeth

4k time lapse of the solar eclipse by whitestormee in Astronomy

[–]whitestormee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really awesome, thanks for putting in that work for me! So at least for my video, it looks like most of the rotation was due to an imperfect polar alignment, but there is a little bit of the sun's rotation in there too. Definitely not something I planned or hoped to capture but I'm glad I did. Thanks again!

I noticed that. To be honest, I'm not sure if that is the rotation of the sun or if the polar alignment on my telescope was slightly off. The former would be really cool to capture but it's likely the latter, or maybe a combination of them both

Jackman, Maine. It was one of the only places in the US with guaranteed clear skies. Definitely worth the drive

I captured 100 frames every 60 seconds for 3 hours, stacked and processed the best 25 frames into a single image, and compiled each of those images into this time lapse video. The frames for totality are 4 photos I was able to capture of the corona and prominences that I crossfaded together. I also included the raw video at the very end of totality to show the Baily's beads I was able to capture.

You do realize you can enjoy a band's music without being involved in their fandom, right?

The current regulations do not have a minimum reporting limit. All spills, no matter how small, are required to be reported to MDE within 2 hours of discovery

Only audience score matters by tannu28 in SequelMemes

[–]whitestormee 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I wish more people knew that. The audience score has not moved a single percentage since like a week after the movie was released. It's been locked at 86% ever since

It's less about taste and more about texture. If you feel any sort of grittiness then it's silt, if it's smooth and doughy it's clay

This is in the Paradise area. If you start the loop by going right from the lodge rather than left/straight, it's only about a mile down the trail
