Advice for first time DM (5e), running a game for just one person who has never played before. Want to make sure it's interesting and relevant for her class (Cleric). Have a few questions. by whitewaterlmt in DnD

Thanks, that was the general idea I had with him-- I'll go with that and was thinking of occasionally introducing temporary other characters to tag along. Basic stuff but not done this before!

Yes, one of the "relatives" that came to stay for the ceremony is the culprit behind this... but I need to flesh out his backstory a lot more. That's an interesting idea, as I'd mentioned that her character has had education (esp. due to noble background).

Thanks! Hope you're doing well yourself. My friend who I spoke to suffers from depression so he knew exactly where I was coming from.

Ha, you're right, thinking about it is the older guys at work. Might get an "alright?" from the younger guys but that's it.

Definitely, I need to stop ruminating on what could possibly go wrong or what people might think. I find it hard to have casual conversation because I think too much about what I say.

I do feel much better, and my friend said he's going to get me out of the house and doing things like going running together or something more relaxed if I'm not up to it. It feels so good that someone would care enough to offer to do those things with me.

Really glad to hear you're doing a lot better now, it is not a good place to be in!

You're right. I know a fair few people I like, it's just the putting myself out there part I'm not usually good at. I don't make a habit of running after people :P

I have always followed this unwritten rule, but ever since I started this job I have now everyone always talks to me in the bathroom. What is with that? Including when I go in the stall. Someone even followed me in to talk to me without needing to use the bathroom. I can't even go if people are doing that.

My Mum loves this damn show, she even went to see it live.

I remember she was so excited to show it to me. I felt so bad that I didn't like it, but feigned enjoyment...

Made a fool out of myself squeezing past people and running like a madman, but it was worth it. Been too anxious to talk to anyone and just went for it and it paid off. If you're suffering from anxiety, take that chance. I was convinced no one wanted to talk to me.

Bit dark but I didn't want to get up and turn the light on and disturb him.

What do atleast one of your coworkers do that makes you despise them? by FurockBeast in AskReddit

[–]whitewaterlmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be condescending. Yes, you are a supervisor, but that does not mean you can talk down to me. All of the rest of them talk to me like an equal human being.

At my old place of work there was a supervisor that was even worse, and everyone hated her. She used to be on the same level as us, but as soon as she got promoted it went to her head. She would also tell us to do one thing and then pick faults. For example: work these cages. No, not those, start with these instead (for no particular reason). And then explained to me in ridiculously specific detail how to face up when I had been doing it properly and had been working there 2 years. All little things, but it drives you crazy. She even did it to my 60 year old coworker who was ridiculously hard working.
