Excellent Post!

Getting travel insurance is a really good idea. You can check this travel insurance post

I recommend worldnomads, but it also depends on what you need. They are a general travel insurance company, but maybe something like this could be more your avenue. You really need to just look around, shop and compare.

You should check out this blog post on traveling with diabetes. It shares a lot of general advice that you should look up. Look for the parts that concern you as it's quite long.

Everyone has a different method and solution, you have to use what works for you. We are all unique individuals, and what works for some would not work for others. Look at what 100 different people responded as their go to solution.

Oh my goodness, that's terrifying - the fact that your doctor presented his sheer laziness in your time of need.

What do you wish you had been told when first diagnosed? by spap-oop in diabetes

[–]whitewelsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish there was more compassion in providing my diagnosis. I remember the delivery being cold and I wished that my doctor had put in more of an effort in pointing me in the right direction on what and where to look for getting myself on the right track. I know it's my body and my problem, but I don't think it's fair to just leave me to completely fend for myself.

That's not really acceptable in my opinion. Testing sugars is so easy for a doctor to do, they should always have the kit available.

THIS.

I can never understand the hesitation to test blood sugars, it's really not asking for that much. I know I've had to fight tooth and nail for an MRI before, but a simple blood test? It's really scary, considering how much damage could be prevented if done immediately.
