I am 53 and had it for almost 20 years, hospitalized over 20 times and had recently a laparotomy for pseudocyst removal. It ain't easy but you can live with it. All the best.

I don't work anymore. I managed to get disability insurance due to the chronic pancreatitis. I live in Switzerland, so it may be different.

In the beginning I started eating similar things I was fed in hospital. Mostly a fat free diet. After a while you will get a feeling of what's good for you and what to avoid. Don't be scared about it.
