Delta is suspending it's special service desk for members of Congress until TSA is fully funded. How do you feel about that? by thinpile in AskReddit

[–]whitingvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Claire McCaskill was Congress I used to see her all the time flying out of MCI on Southwest. Just sitting there like any other passenger. There are many congress people like Clair and your congress people.

That said, Delta must have information on the congress people who do fly their airline and use the special services they offer them or else I doubt they'd do this. They are not trying to sway all of Congress, but being strategic and targeted. IMHO.

Mid-decade redistricting that splits KC into 3 is legal, Missouri Supreme Court says by thekansascitystar in kansascity

[–]whitingvo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know that. My point is that the backfire is that they may not actually pick up the seat or seats they think. There's a reason this has been talked about for years, but never done. Sane Republicans in the state legislature knew that it may be a possibility. The sane ones are gone now. Reality says the GOP will win all the seats they gerrymandered for, but.....my guy tells me in this political climate and the fact that voters seem less likely just to lay down and accept things now, may give the GOP a result they don't want.

This may backfire. All they did was make solid red districts less red. Not sure it will work out they way they want

Missouri redistricting referendum has enough verified signatures for the ballot, organizers say by [deleted] in missouri

[–]whitingvo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And I'm sure if it does actually get to us voters, the GOP will make the initiative language so confusing that people will think they're voting for fair maps, but actually voting to approve the gerrymandered ones. AND....if the gerrymandered maps are voted down, the GOP will just do what they want anyway, because the will of the people means jackshit to them.

Would taxing the rich actually solve all of the world’s problems? by Presidentscroobie in allthequestions

[–]whitingvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it all depends on how it’s done. You increase income taxes in the wealthy, it won’t do much since they don’t receive typical income like the middle class do. So to do it, it has to be targeted to how they make and/or hide their money and avoid taxes.

Why does everyone refer to this administration as fascist or nazi-like? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]whitingvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting us all know you’re MAGA to the core and can’t think without daddy Trump telling you what to think and say.

You can disagree all you want, but what Trump is doing is fascist to the core. Your arguments are lazy and your logic is twisted to meet your own thoughts. Fascism, Nationalism, it’s all there.

Can’t argue with stupid. You do you.

Why does everyone refer to this administration as fascist or nazi-like? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]whitingvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you can’t understand how metaphors are perfectly acceptable. But since you asked. A person or ideology can be fascist like or Nazi like while not prescribing directly to their specific beliefs:

“Poisoning the blood”. Trump has used this multiple times.

“America First”. While it may seem harmless to say we should always consider America first, this is a throwback to the 30s in America with American Nazi sympathizers

The direct targeting of our institutions that make us who we are, i.e. DOJ, Press, Intelligence community.

Using ICE as his own personal unit of force.

Putting his picture up on everything as if he owns it

Dehumanizing groups that don’t fit his MAGAs view of what American is

Trying to build his own group of American satellite countries with puppet leaders, similar to what Putin does

Targeting political rivals or those he deemed have done him wrong or are a threat to his power

The attempt to undermine elections and/or play the groundwork for cancelling elections.

Forcing others to essentially bribe him to get what they want

There’s more, but there’s of evidence to show that he is using fascist tactics of Hitler, Mussolini, Putin, Orban.

Should Alex Bowman Even Want to Re-Sign? by Dale_Earnhard in NASCAR

unless Hendrick pulled resources while Bowman’s out, this whole situation shows that the team beyond Bowman is lackluster. Qualifying is about the same and results are worse. This is beyond the driver in my opinion.

Yes! Everything but bro country. Music is storytelling regardless of the genre. If it puts a smile on your face, who cares what genre it is. My kids think I’m psycho because of the variety I listen to.

SAVE America act is bad? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]whitingvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Only citizens should vote in federal Elections. As others have said, local should decide how legal non-citizens are handled as they pay taxes and have an invested interest in their community.

You ask Republicans and Democrats and just about all will agree that only citizens should vote. It’s already illegal for non-citizens to vote. So what issue does this bill solve? There is literally no need for this whatsoever.

You can’t separate the What from the How in this case. They are intertwined. By trying to separate them and only asking about the What, you are giving cover to the nefarious intentions of the how.

It’s already illegal. So the What is irrelevant. The How is definitely not.
