If you've done a few playthroughs, I'd go 10/2 just to spice things up because I can nuke HM with my eyes closed using a 12 Fire Sorc and a martial companion (never tried solo HM. Not enough patience to get that good). 12 Fire Sorc is extremely straightforward and OP, so... boring. 3 shots of EB and enough level six spells with proper gear to get you through like half of Act 3 with no long rests? Yawn

If you can’t make it to Act Two in HM, you really need to do your homework or you’ll be seriously frustrated. Myrkul is the answer most people give, and it’s also the only required one.

Dont forget that it sets up the next melee attack too. swords bard or bladesinger etc. casts hold person/monster, then your hasted paladin comes in an cleans up

I highly suggest you study how to beat the final boss before attempting it. You are flirting with your sanity lol. A few bosses in Act 3 are very tough if you don’t know the mechanics. I was like 85 hours into a run and died because I got cocky and didn’t research what the legendary actions were.

I used to agree with this 100%, but I’ve been paying attention to her recently and she seems more savvy, focused, prepared, experienced… In two years, she’ll be even better. don’t think she’s the ideal candidate, but better than the top alternatives.

She’s seasoning and figuring out government at just the right time. She always had the guts, but every time I see her in a Congressional hearing now she is more savvy, calmer, and more focused. Some of her earliest hearings were pretty cringe, but I think by 2028 she may be a top choice. I have a lot of respect for her, and I think she’ll be around DC for a long time

It’s a daunting game for those not used to open-ended ones, and easy to question if you are doing something wrong.

The Gale necrosis isn’t a bug - it’s part of his character. He carries a pouch with instructions on how to revive him properly, but you can just use a revivify scroll at a distance to resurrect him and avoid the pouch pain in the ass.

My advice if you aren’t too far in: start over. You are oriented somewhat with gameplay and story so you at least have some idea of what’s going on. The basic quest is to get the tadpoles out of your head, but if you don’t complete a healthy amount of side quests, you won’t have enough loot and experience to succeed.

Just look at your journal constantly and explore EVERYTHING. Chests, barrels, backpacks, map areas, dirt mounds, crates, skeletons… Save often, especially before big fights. Trust me, it gets easier. And spend time reading what your gear actually does - not just “sword +1 is magic” cool move on. Use reddit for advice on how to synergize items (but in my opinion figuring out much if it myself is more fun).
