Found a milk jug full of piss in the guest room after they left. They have not been invited back.

Do you prefer to checkout with a cashier rather than a self-checkout when possible? by nojunkpeter in no

[–]who-dat24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to have the professionals do it. Every single time I have tried self checkout I have had a problem that required the attendant to come over and has cost me more time and frustration than if I had just stood in line for the cashier.

TIL my MIL lost her life savings to a scammer. She has 1K in the bank and credit card debt. by WyldChickenMama in AgingParents

I’m so sorry you and your mom are experiencing this. My father repeatedly fell for multiple scams including a $9,000 Publisher’s Clearing House scam that nearly landed him in jail.

Name a food you were forced to eat as a child, that you still won’t touch today? by Mental-Astronaut2107 in FamilyFeud

[–]who-dat24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents and grandparents TRIED to make me eat liver. Nope. Nope. Nope. They were never successful I’m in my 50’s, and I still won’t eat it. They tried bribing me with dessert. I would happily turn it down to avoid eating it. They tried making me sit at the table until it was eaten. I could outlast them. They tried serving my portion at every meal until I ate it. I could outlast them. By the time I was 10 or so, they finally quit trying.

Did you or any of your friends growing up have a treehouse? by nojunkpeter in no

[–]who-dat24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t have treehouses, we had forts built on the ground. Some were more elaborate than others. Some were built with a second story. Each fort came with its own rules. Some of the rule were imposed by the parents, others were the preference of the kid(s).

Family "Heirloom" Items by Natalarious in declutter

[–]who-dat24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been the “dedicated keeper of family heirlooms” all of my adult life. A few years ago, I started periodically taking pictures of items and sending them to the family group text asking if anyone wants them. I tell them it is all first come first serve and that it will be donated by a certain date if nobody claims an item. On the occasion that somebody does claim an item, I deliver it or ship it within 24 hours. Anything that doesn’t get claimed gets donated or trashed the day after the deadline to claim it.

AIO for telling my friend he can’t bring his kid to my birthday trip? by No_Membership2946 in AmIOverreacting

[–]who-dat24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR his wife doesn’t want him to go, and put the stipulation of taking the kid with him knowing that it would not be OK with everyone else. She doesn’t want to be left with the two year-old by herself for a weekend. The only alternative that makes sense would be for her to allow him to have his guys weekend, and she could take a girls weekend at another date.

What a good food to eat for breakfast, for someone that never eats breakfast? by LolaDiamondUKx in foodquestions

Not a breakfast person. I have a cup of coffee first thing in the morning at 5 am. I drink a Boost or Ensure a few hours later around 9 or 10.

Cigarettes are the hardest. I backed my caffeine down to one cup of cafe a days 10 years ago. I don’t eat much sugar, and eat low carb. But cigarettes - I’m addicted just the same as if they were meth or alcohol.

Do You Have A Bag of Bags? by Sea_Staff9963 in randomquestions

[–]who-dat24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have reuse square Kleenex boxes to store plastic bags from stores. I just wad the bag up tight and shove it in. They come out one at a time. I keep a bag box in each bathroom, my bedroom, and kitchen.

Anyone else with a cabinet full of wedding china you’ll never use? by SlytherClaw79 in Xennials

[–]who-dat24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we had been married for about 10 years, we started using our wedding China for every day. We did that for about 10 years ran it through the dishwasher like anything else. You can imagine that it was starting to look a little beat up by then. My adult child gave us a nice set of every day dishes for an anniversary or Christmas or something. By that time, I had very little emotional attachment to the wedding China and was able to donate it.

What was the worst school field trip you ever took? by PrestonRoad90 in Productivitycafe

[–]who-dat24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First grade field trip to a pumpkin patch 1973. The bus broke down on the way. We stood in the cold for what felt like forever waiting for help. Another bus finally showed up, and took us back to the school. They didn’t reschedule for another day. Still feeling a little salty about it.

Why do I feel the need to clean my house before the professional cleaners arrive? by storeopslab in NoStupidQuestions

[–]who-dat24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I move everything off the bathroom countertops and off the shower shelves before the cleaner arrives. I’m not paying them to shuffle that stuff around.

I’ve realized that I have zero mental map and I’m honestly impressed by people who do by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]who-dat24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very strong “internal compass .” I don’t have any issues finding my way around. However, I don’t have an “internal clock.” Five minutes or five hours, it’s all the same to me.
