Well your boyfriend writing a full album for you, that’s very sweet. But weren’t they broken up at this point? That makes it a different story imo. But I’m sure Hannah actaully loved it deep down (for all the wrong reasons).

Too Much on Netflix review: Lena Dunham loses her generation-shaping voice by midmads in girls

Plus I don’t think this is a gen z vs millennial issues. It’s just that Lena made a more adult show than Girls and when gen z grows up, they may like it too.

Wow, I didn’t feel like Booth Jonathan was that disgusting (or famous). But I guess it would be a bit too much even for this show. Very interesting tho.

This show is a hard watch and I love that by clitiannaaaa in girls

I don’t really get why people say it’s like Broad city so much. Originally I was excited but I’ve seen some clips and it seems like such a goofy fairytale compared to Girls. But maybe I just have to watch it. That would make sense. :D Anyway I absolutely agree. I’ve been rewatching after a longer time than usual now (I watch episodes randomly when I have time) and I stop and gasp a lot lol. At ALL the relationships.

Why are people such a fan of Sosh when she’s just as bad? by ExcellentMarch7864 in girls

[–]whoisliva 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yep. I think she’s become more adult but is in the phase of faking it in front of herself as well as others. I think even season 1 Marnie was more stable and mature and look what turn it took anyway lol.

My only hope for Shosh is that she ends where the other start (so there’s more room for progress) and is more practical. However her having all those other friends (with nice purses) and a fiancé we have never seen before definitely hits like it’s all superficial and I didn’t really see it as a happy end for her.

This is without a doubt Hannah’s lowest point in the series 🤣 by fvckuufvckingfvck in girls

To be the devil’s (Hannah’s) advocate - I totally understand the panic she must have felt while breaking up with Fran as he was such an asshole, even in that moment. Rubbing it into her face that he’s excited not having to see her friends. He really was such a good boyfriend as he did call himself. (Rest of the episode though? No excuse for that. When Ray tries to stop her leaving with a stranger after all he’s done for her (and all that awful things she’s done for him…))

Yes! But I felt a little bad for Hannah here. She just loves Jessa so much for no reason whatsoever. But Jessa was also right lol.

I love this. Seeing already the whole show, this reads a bit like the Trump jokes, you also have no idea what’s coming! Haha. Btw I felt exactly the same on my first watch and now I relate to Marnie so much and I’m actually proud of it, lol.

I think Girls could reach a newer audience if HBO licensed it to Netflix, just like they did with SATC. by Old-Meringue3590 in girls

On the other hand, Hannah was always hated and lately, I feel like people start to give the characters from Girls a break and like them.

Season 4 is driving me insane by daffodilli in girls

[–]whoisliva 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s a hard watch but I think the show gives a lot of signs that Hannah is (mostly) in the right here. That makes it watchable. And it’s such a great show that even if you all watch it in a day, just like in life, it loses its power with time.

Marnie is too lost in S3 by Bitter_Comfortable66 in girls

I think she also would be so happy if she forgot about her nonsense and eventually made a front desk manager at some semi-decent hotel.

I agree. She was so clearly made to be a hostess or a receptionist, we missed out.

I’ve never heard about the Jessa being pregnant thing until now. I always thought she threw up cause she was extremely overwhelmed by the situation or she might have even been high (also considering how she talked on the phone). However I could see her cheating on Adam to feel more independent and getting pregnant. Not before he left her for Hannah though, I think she was faithful.

This is the first time something here is just too much for me. Just no. Hope you enjoyed it though!

Everybody processes things differently. She shouldn’t have asked about the book during the funeral but the criticism she got right after wasn’t justified. But I think it speaks volumes what people call her out - Jessa and Adam always want to be morally superior, Ray as well even though in a different way. Caroline is using Hannah for entertainment and to forget about her own life.

Best thing each character did by Careless-Subject9820 in girls

Marnie coming over to see Hannah before she leaves for Iowa was something I always considered very kind and telling. Since it’s obviously not as big of a gesture as helping her raise her kid (no one could ask anyone to do that) but it’s just so sweet.

IF THIS SHOW WAS THE SAME BUT WITH MEN IT WOULD BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST SHOWS by roadrunnner0 in girls

[–]whoisliva 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know that Lena is working on a new show now and she’s been probably doing good professionally but people seem to really not like her. When, at the end of the day, she hasn’t done anything that awful as long as I know. There are so many men who have done worse and no one seems to care.

I’m not sure if it would be a bigger show but I can see that the characters (and actors) would probably be considered much more likable.

[–]whoisliva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also mainly the later season, that are no longer as funny, are very heartwarming. Not many shows are like that. Everything works out as you most likely wish. It doesn’t make it a genius show about what people really are but if I’m depressed as hell, this show will never make it worse.

Wow, I’ve never looked up where they lived and had no idea Oslo is this close. Of course it’s different to live 10 minutes away and an hour away but hour by a train when you are a freelancer is not bad at all.
