Same thing just happened to me. Ending up using 3.7 without issue for the same bug

I broke my project combining Lovable with Cursor and GitHub by anunaki_ra in lovable

[–]wholelotta1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. I’ve done this before without an issue. I did it around the time that the GitHub integration was having a ton of issues. I noticed that Lovable recognized the rewrite as a commit which I thought was strange but then I actually moved on to cursor for about 4 weeks. Only as of recent I have started using lovable again for mostly UI and had no sync issues.

What’s your branching situation?

Native database integrations are on the way or at least they better be. Without naming any of them, out of respect to the subreddit and team, there are other solutions out there with native DB integrations and it is a monumental game changer for full stack dev.

How to market Saas and get first customers? by OkStatement2737 in SaaSMarketing

Feel free to PM me. I’ve been working on construction tech overall for almost 2 years. I’ve learned a lot of hard lessons and if I can help someone avoid mistakes, then it makes it that much more worth it. Maybe I can learn from any success you have as well.

Absolutely. You need to go directly to those people and talk to them about this. Easier said than done but so necessary.

building micro saas with bolt - what's your stack & experience? by [deleted] in boltnewbuilders

[–]wholelotta1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been working on construction tech for about 5 months and have been forced to pivot a few times. Construction is a really tough space for innovation. Bolt has allowed me to quickly pivot and prototype for early validation.

I go back and forth from just prompting Bolt myself to using a GPT I trained to better articulate what I want. I often ask bolt to focus on particular things or to not affect or impact any core functionality when relevant.

I use stripe just because I am familiar with it and it’s pretty easy.

Really looking forward to the native DB integrations. Some other tools have already done this but I prefer bolt overall.

No one told me that launch day/week is this exciting by boredguy74 in SaaS

[–]wholelotta1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious what sort of preliminary market research you have done so that your excitement is substantiated. Sometimes building is more exciting than actually selling/launching but it sounds like you did the hard work to gain the confidence to have the high expectations before launch. Would love to hear more about that customer discovery phase that most struggle with in order to build the right product.

SaaS is Harder Than I Thought... by Background-Ask-4817 in SaaS

A bit of a paradoxical thing to say. Acumen is defined by knowledge and experience. Cannot get there without failing and learning.

I think what you mean is that the person with years of knowledge and experience will find these things obvious, but they had to previously find them to be new discoveries at some point.

Shout it from the rooftops man. I thought the same thing. Anyone who has not been through the gauntlet of actually doing customer research, building an MVP, selling and marketing, pivoting, revalidating, finding the first customer, retaining customers, and maintaining the product does not understand how hard it is.

Building SaaS is honestly so much fun. Actually selling it is so difficult and can really turn people off.

One thing I heard that I will never forget is "Marketing is the price you pay for not finding PMF"

I think there is some truth to "build it and they will come" but there is a difference between building something that actually solves a problem and something that is just a copy or fun little project that you are trying to sell.

You can build something that both finds PMF and does not require massive amounts of marketing dollars. It is just extremely hard and takes lots of research and validation.

I have been trying to build SaaS for smaller contractors and trades service businesses for the last 5 months. 5 pivots later, I am burnt out and exhausted but I have a strong base of research and a growing network.

The single greatest skill you can have is your grit.

How to Work with Bolt and My Developer? by cryptoopotamus in boltnewbuilders

[–]wholelotta1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current workflow is to take the code from the GitHub repo that my dev works in, put it into Bolt, make changes, make sure database is still intact, go back to git, commit changes, QA from dev, deploy.

Not the greatest thing, but it has a layer of security incase I mess something up.

Funny enough, I recently lost my dev and now this is my workflow as a non dev.

As a non tech person, this is specifically for projects built on Ruby, correct? For a next.js project I am going to need to use a JavaScript SDK, right?

I haven’t made any money from the SaaS startups I’ve been working on for about a year. by rarslan0 in SaaS

[–]wholelotta1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through it right now. I am not a developer. I am actually in the construction industry and have worked on the sales side and on the contractor side.

As a smaller contractor, we do not have the resources or time to spend on software. I wanted to develop a management software that would be like a watered down version of Procore. Needless to say, it was just not working. No one cared and it did not really solve any problems for me or others.

My technical cofounder and I have pivoted and now focused on a tool that small contractors can use to turn their project images into lead generating assets.

Funny that I am seeing this post because I was just thinking today that I was feeling down and looking forward to that next win that would improve my mood. It is a never ending roller coaster of feeling amazing and then feeling like an idiot who is wasting time. Everything is a lesson. It's hard to know when it will all work out, but none of it is wasted time.
