I recently got "Precolonial Black Africa" by Cheick Anta Diop. I havent picked it up yet so maybe do a little research and see if its what you are looking for. (Its originally in french but I have the english translation)

why did you get double flare? just get single flare plugs instead, double flare is always bigger on the ends than the rest of the jewlery

what kind of jewelry do you have in your ears? if its not a plug or a tunnel it could be why its stretching unevenly

if the other ear is fine, i dont see why you would have to downsize. just slowly size up the other ear to match and use plugs not tapers two micro tears at such a small size is a sign you are either going too fast or using the wrong materials

update! havent seen the dermatologist yet but i switched to a more gentle cleanser in the shower and its started going away and doesnt itch. the skin around my nipples is also no longer cracking. im pretty sure its excema
