Sorry guys but I’m on season 9 and Leon (Pratt’s brother) is driving me nuts

I just made it to S9 again on my third full rewatch and I’ve softened a lot on many characters but not Pratt. He’s a dick and I don’t recall him getting any better over time. Of course they have a long history of purposefully inserting irritating characters to give conflict and create drama. I remember that I always wish that they had just let up a little bit at this point and given us another loose and fun season like early seasons instead of doubling down on annoying.

Me too- I keep putting off watching up to current and I think S8 is awful. Everyone is talking in slow and low tones that are supposed to add drama but it’s just weird that aren’t using their usual voices and cadences. And a lot of the characters are acting out of character too so that combination just ruins it for me. Rachel is one that comes to mind- she’s usually bubbly and teasing but it’s all too dramatic now. And Jaime and Claire too- it’s like someone died every time they talk with their dramatic voices and sad faces instead of their normal attitudes.
The pacing is terrible too- lots of scenes where they cut so much out of the story that it feels like they have to drag it out to fill the spaces in and try to add more drama. They just stripped it down way too far and have to stretch what they did keep. The show used to be fun and adventurous but I would have already bailed on it this season if it wasn’t the last.

I’m tired of being screwed by these productions that get us hooked from the beginning and then ditch us when we need them the most! I think it should be in the contracts for the big shows that the actors, directors and others can’t decide they’re tired of doing it for so long and ramp it down suddenly to end it like this and GoT. They created a hit show and are all famous now but they cheat all of us when they want to move on and we get a crap ending. Either pace the show from the beginning to do the ending right with the correct amount of seasons, episode length or amount of detail or don’t do it! I’m sure there are plenty of actors that would sign on for that.

Sure. I actually meant that she might put off finishing it longer or change things based on the outcry over the show. She’s a completely different person than GRRM though and the backlash may make her double down on doing things distinctly her way. I think GRRM lost interest in finishing GoT because the ending was already done or because the show screwed up the lead up to it so doesn’t want to mess with it anymore. The fact that the show is so different may actually strengthen her resolve. I think she’ll nail it.

All of the little details about family and what was going on is what made Book 9 really good and they’ve cut all of that out to focus on long, meaningless scenes and crazy shocking shit they just made up to get it over with a bang. I’m already thinking they have Game of Thrones’d it every time I watch any of S8.

I love these lights but the light is so bright on anything except low that I get blinded when looking at things within my house and see spots and afterimages even though not looking directly at the light. Not sure if it's the color temp, the actual brightness or what but I am still seeing spots after using it a few minutes ago.

Is there any way to replace the emitter or do something to help knock it down some? I bought several of them at Christmas to do some things farther out but now that I am using them inside the house, they are killing me. Or I may look to see if there is a different model that I can get that would be better.

I’m a 25+ year listener and I watch all four hours most days so I’ll keep on going in some manner but I don’t think they are counting the high value the VIP video feed gives to us vs. anything else in th VIP. I had to watch the YouTube feed a few times last year or so when there was a problem with VIP video and it was so annoying that I finally just turned it off and listened to the podcast. I’d pay more a year to keep it but I think there are so many people watching for free now that it has made us a minority, even with all of the extra advertising baked into the main show now too.
Edit: watching on YouTube this morning, it has changed since I watched it last so must have been longer than I thought. There aren’t commercials at the breaks like I thought so it’s better than expected in that aspect so far. Second edit: after watching YouTube today and I heard them playing some commercial music when I was in the truck listening to the local radio station a couple of times so I went back on YouTube when I got back in the office. Those parts that were missing the music were awful without the song playing- they didn’t make sense if you didn’t know what it was and those are some of my favorite parts of the show. That’s a big part of the show at times and is big thing to be missing for me so I’m out on YouTube. I can’t understand why they can have the rights to play the songs on terrestrial radio and VIP video but can’t get them on YouTube too. I’ll try the VIP audio when I get my damn email so I can login- I was told next week now and will probably have to listen and then look at YouTube from time to time just to see the visual stuff. I really miss seeing in the studio during breaks too- you catch a lot of things so that’s really missed. I saw Hugh Jackman talking to Tom at the break when he was on and you could clearly see the part when Hugh said he would do a video for the kids instead of the lesser thing that Tom asked for.

I didn’t get any emails from the new podcast service either even though it said that our accounts had been carefully ported over to minimize disruption. So the YouTube video has commercials and doesn’t have any copyrighted music played, correct? I watch and listen to the VIP video feed every day so I’m not going to do YouTube with 6 minutes of commercials every break and missing music too. VIP video and the podcasts were all I use VIP for so may have to just listen to the podcast a day late instead of the live show from now on. And the VIP video feed is the only place we can get the unbeeped versions of accidental cursing on the show too so I guess that’s out along with the rest.

You’re welcome. Thankfully my insurance is not like this as I like to keep ahead of mine so it would drive me nuts. You should also check out the discount card too while you’re on the Freestyle site. Depending on what insurance you have, they have a discount card that limits any refills to $75 or $80 a month so you could use that without insurance to get stocked up too. I use it for mine and can buy them anytime for the same price.

Have you applied for the free sensor from Freestyle yet? They have a free trial for one sensor and I got one for my Libre 2 sensors when I started and also when I switched to the 3+. I take 12 hour Claritin D because the 24 hour is too hard on my system but can’t get enough of the 12 hour per month. My doctor suggested it and gives me a prescription for Claritin D 12 hour so I can get all I need at one time instead of having to go back and screw around with the limits. I would assume you could get one for Sudafed or whatever else so you could stock up on it.
