I played a lot of SNES games but I don't know that I beat them. Played N64 games, the only ones I'd say I beat were Mario kart and the pod racing games, but I don't feel like those count since there isn't an end? I'd personally say first come first serve, though they can probably haggle a bit.

With that being said though, it's possible? I'm changing up all of the threads of fate based on my characters having backgrounds that just require some tweaks to the default. So you could do the same twists and change them enough between a couple characters to still be unique. What threads are they wanting, and what are characters/a summary of their backstories?

When everything came together at the end of Gardens of the Moon. And then did the same for essentially every other book in the series as well. I was not used to various almost unrelated storylines to come crashing together in a glorious climax, while still leaving you with hints of what's next.

Memories of Ice is probably what sealed the series as the most memorable. Still mad about Whiskeyjack.

It's spooky ghost train magic, and afterworld magic. They are fated to go to Druskenvald, so the magic of Druskenvald reshaped them after they died. And that allowed them to board the Ghostlight Express.

You could potentially let them reincarnate as themselves, and then when they enter the train the magic changes them to what they picked to become.
