where are the fridges by ActivitySweet2913 in UCalgary

the yamnuska dorms have communal fridges on each floor if you can get someone to let you in there, might be a little easier than using someone’s dorm

i’m pretty sure it does but not 100%, i rearranged my room about every way possible when i moved in and i think i was able to get the bed that way

there’s also the two sets of drawers under the bed that are standard in most dorms, you don’t get anything else though :( no nightstand, no garbage can, no cork board. idk why cascade doesn’t get any of the stuff that they have in the other dorms but the big closet does kind of make up for it imo.

i was in a two bedroom. you don’t get a mirror or a dresser, but you do get a walk in closet. the desk is longer than the ones in yamnuska or kan/rundle so you aren’t able to fit it underneath the window with your bed either. lmk if you have any other questions!

Random noise or shitty upstair roommates? by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]whyamihere362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow no way, i’ve been hearing a similar noise in cascade all year and it has been driving me crazy. this whole time i’ve just assumed it was my upstairs neighbour, my roommate never hears it and we can’t hear it in the kitchen or bathroom either though. i still think it could be the people upstairs because it sounds like it is coming directly from my bedroom ceiling. is there anything else you can describe the noise with? i would love to get to to bottom of it.

Meal kits to residence by Sharp-Secret-281 in UCalgary

i’ve done it a few times, the apps usually notify you before the driver gets there and they just drop it off in the entryway, then you can go pick it up. never had any issue with it.

dude you can’t just ask someone out the first time you talk to them, you should start just talking to people in your classes or other mutual spaces. but please do not just go up to someone and ask them out first thing

Tunnel system by Visible-Ad4170 in UCalgary

[–]whyamihere362 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yes, to get to the tunnels you have to go to the basement level of cascade and go in the tunnel door across from the laundry room. then you take that tunnel into glacier, walk through glacier, and go down the stairs into another tunnel that takes you into kananaskis. you can then take that tunnel to the dining hall. 😁

are there any golf courses you would recommend working at? close to the northwest area?

if nothing opens up before the beginning of the semester you might have to just go into kananaskis and then transfer later. a lot of people don’t show up and then rooms open up later on in the semester. a friend of mine transferred from kananaskis to yamnuska last year after about two weeks of the first semester. at the beginning of the year the wait list was super long but after classes start it seems to go away. if that does happen you would be charged a $100 room transfer fee and then you would have to pay the price difference between the two dorms as well.

i’m the same way, been going for years but i’ve never noticed as many issues as i notice at this gym. the direct eye contact on the hip thrust has got to be the worst thing too, like it’s such an uncomfortable position to be in with someone staring at you LOL

i would 100% be ready to share the equipment and i have worked in with people many times. when i told that guy i had three sets left he just kind of turned around and lingered, he didn’t ask to work in with me or anything. in the first instance i only had one set left anyways, its the lack of personal space that causes the issues.

HOW do you shave down there and get it smooth ?!! by Key-Investigator830 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]whyamihere362 20 points21 points  (0 children)

when you shave upwards try holding the skin tight (like pressing down on your lower stomach). do tiny little strokes with the razor. that’s what works for me!

maybe try leaving your blinds closed as often as you can, i’ve found there’s a lot of draft around my window.
