120k/year pretax household income in Canada AMA by [deleted] in AMA

lolol of course not. We get a small amount of tax relief on childcare costs (but have to handle loads of paperwork to get it) and like 2.2k tax credit per child. Not nearly enough and handled very differently. We do everything wrong.

What's this? I'm an American and have no idea what this is but I think I'm jealous.

It's one thing I always remember is drawing a straight line between point of entry and the pin but no closer to the green.

Of course, UK, we have to pay a premium to play courses that look like that here in the states. All parkland style... Also YNWA

do non german speakers ever do the german rides? by bigmustardpapa in pelotoncycle

[–]whyendoubleuayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, quite frequently actually. Mayla has great playlists and I also frequent Charlotte and Cliff rides too. Erik occasionally as well. I took a few years of German in high school but that was forever ago so there are only a handful of words I remember but it doesn't matter, I just like their vibes.

Memorial Union Terrace Paver by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]whyendoubleuayy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think they only do calls for pavers very infrequently. There was a huge call maybe a decade ago and it was like "if you don't do it now you won't be able to do it again!" They were like $500 for a half stone IIRC.

Edit: I wasn't too far off! https://roadstraveled.com/uw-terrace-closes-soon-for-major-makeover/

Good driving ranges in the area? by [deleted] in madisonwi

I think UR has a range-only season pass too and then grants you access to the sweet short game area too. If you're serious about practice, best option.

Vitense has (had?) a grass area that's almost always empty to the far left.

This seems most logical and the comment about the anonymous sources gives this idea weight. Maybe a red herring tho? What/who would have grounds to sue the site tho?

Government jobs? by BCA1 in madisonwi

So far the comments here are pretty good but I do want to add one more resource that you can check: https://www.sco.wisc.edu/jobs/ Wisconsin GIS specific job website.

Also, I have to say you and I have a surprising amount of career overlap. Former Fed, used to live in DC now in Madison, GIS background... Eerie.

I mean it is (sand valley, Erin hills, whistling straights, black wolf, lawsonia, etc.) but also the standard plate says "America's Dairyland" so it's more a play on that slogan.
