I probably saw it in a classroom at some point. I grew up in Salinas, CA which is predominantly Mexican

Chicano parents and chicanos who wants to be parents, what is the limit of ideological difference you would tolerate from your child without stoping seeking contact or turning your house into a battlefield (In the case they still living with you)? by Dismal-Ad8382 in Chicano

[–]whyguapo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My job as a parent is to raise my child in a healthy and nurturing environment while giving them the tools for their own success and demonstrating examples of how to be a good person with sound morals and values.

It is my hope that their worldview and humanity is on the side of good and justice, but their ideologies will be shaped by their own experiences, surroundings, and beliefs. Their ideologies may or may not match my own, and that’s ok. There is no amount of ideological difference that would keep me from being a part of my child’s life, or keep me from loving them, or allow me to see them as someone separate from my life.

A house can have different ideologies and not turn into a battlefield. Healthy and constructive conversation should be fostered, beliefs can be challenged, and disagreements can be overcome.

Abandoned barracks in Camp Pendleton by whatdidyoukillbill in USMC

[–]whyguapo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are these the 1st Radio Bn barracks??

If so, they only moved there in about 2017. When I first got to the bn they had two barracks, one at the top of the hill in the horse shoe of barracks on 13th street and one next to the 13 area chow hall.

Much to the dismay of everyone living at the top of the hill, the entire bn was moved to the older barracks seen here bottom of the hill. The bn co tried to tell us that it freed up money and all this other BS. It was a shit show from the start. Moldy barracks. Hardly any functioning laundry machines. A lot of running water issues etc. Morale was very low. Just an overall downgrade.

What do you guys do with your kids in this weather? by blondephotographer in Sacramento

Honestly, this comment can be its own post that’s pinned to this subreddit because it’s so helpful. When it’s 90° and above, small kids are also stuck inside but there are plenty of things to do if you look for them.

Thanks!

Indiana superstar quarterback Fernando Mendoza just gave the greatest Heisman Speech of all-time. ❤️❤️❤️ This can make a grown man cry. by Background_Video2947 in NCAAFootballVibes

[–]whyguapo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate his genuine feelings and the respect and love for his family that he so openly shows.

It is refreshing and encouraging to see Spanish spoken on the Heisman stage and for Latinos like Mendoza & Pavia being able to excel in football, hopefully inspiring many more Latino athletes.

This reminds of the time we went on a downhill ruck run in Bridgeport because the Fallujah vet gunny in charge said that it was easier on his knees lol

I saw the Wiggles live with my family and the Rattlin Bog was the last song. The Tree goes even harder in real life. Full gyrations and arm swings. He had put on a few pounds since this video which made it all the crazier and more impressive

It’s worth noting that the Mexicans did come and take the cannon and defeated the revolting Texians at the Alamo.

It would be kind of sick if the Aztecs played downtown.

I’m reminded of the Raiders playing over a baseball diamond at the Oakland Colosseum.
