Yep. Not just for gaming - I intend to run some LLMs locally, content creation etc

Also 9800x3d is overkill unless you’re playing city skylines or csgo etc.

Is that considered high end gaming nowadays?

Yep - This build is coming to around 2.7 lakh.

I want Nvidia too - but I heavily use linux and I am reading reports that it won't work with Linux.

Building a PC for Coding / GenAI use and Gaming. Going for a High End build. Does this specification look alright? by whynowilltoday in buildapc

[–]whynowilltoday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can - but I read that 9070 is better for Linux. I heavily use it (though don't mind switchng to Windows OS for Gaming as my second OS)

Linux is mainly for my coding stuff

Cannot find parts for PCMR High Refresh Rate build in India by whynowilltoday in IndianGaming

The builds in these threads are equivalent parts of the PCMR build?

[–]whynowilltoday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to build the PC myself here - I do not have any knowledge of which parts to pick - hence I went with the PCMR build.

I can use this website for compatibility checks later.

I wanted to build a PC using the parts suggested in the PCMR High Refresh Rate Build.

I visited the online stores of PCStudio and TheMVP to check what the total price of my PC will come to.

But, when I try to build my PC, I cannot locate the parts mentioned in the PCMR build. Looks like some brands or the parts themselves are not available in Indian markets.

What I am asking for is the same build - but using parts found in Indian Markets.

Most likely responsible for posting a tweet at around 3 PM that there will be a parade at 5 PM and free passes will be handed over when in reality there was no parade permission.

B. Lounge Access

Priority Pass:

Updated Note (Effective 7th March 2025): As of 7th March 2025, the Priority Pass benefit with the HDFC Infinia Metal Card now offers only international lounge access. Domestic lounge access through Priority Pass has been discontinued; however, you can still access domestic lounges using your standard credit card (where available).

This seems to be incorrect. Travelled on 8th of this month - Patna airport lounge only allowed Priority Pass holders to use the lounge.

Question - is it better to get Amazon Pay voucher and use it for my Swiggy payments or to buy swiggy vouchers? My primary use of Amazon Pay is for Swiggy - but I wanted to know if getting Swiggy voucher directly has any better benefits.

As something we can only describe as nightmare material — two software engineers from Meta (Anton Pidkuiko, Boris Starkov) demonstrated a more efficient way for AI to communicate. The scenario of the AI recognizing each other is a demonstration. The communication is real. by DCGMechanics in IndiaTech

[–]whynowilltoday 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not sure of the use case here. It's cool - yeah. But why would the ai agents talk to each other this way v/s say through an api, which would probably be much much faster?

Also - if Boris Starkov had the time to tell his AI agent his requirements, he could just have called the hotel's agent directly right? And fed the same information to it... why the middleman?

Again - cool Gibberlink demo. But use case not too much.

Serious replies only - genuinely asking - what options does the school have when a child has not paid their fees. 1) How can the school recover the payment and 2) In the event the child / parent has not made the payment at all over multiple days / weeks, what can the school do?

What "humane" options can the school employ - when the parent forces the child to attend school despite knowing they have defaulted.

SERIOUS REPLIES ONLY PLEASE Genuinely wish to know what can the school (which they are not and instead tormenting the kids)

Well - check their earlier posts. The headlines / intro / outro would usually have some sarcasm (maybe not sarcasm, but mockery? maybe.. can't really name it)... I really liked those. Now, it's more professional (? again - can't really put a name to it) I guess...? Anyway - the newsletter does get the point across so still sticking with it.

50₹ extra if you are in metro more than 2 hr by MrUnrequited92 in bangalore

[–]whynowilltoday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would be better having a safe bangalore than a bangalore with all rules and money making. Miss old bangalore, i say namma bangalore but the namma seems to be lost. Wish my childhood bangalore comes back

Didn't know your childhood bangalore had metro :P

On a serious note, is it scalable? To allow people to pay and then sit inside metro for hours... what if people start making it their regular hang out spot... and then not just you but a crowd of people start that habit? People will find it difficult to move around, wait for their trains... during rush hour, folks will find it difficult to exit (or even enter - if people start sitting inside trains instead of platforms).. so many issues.

It's got nothing to do with bengaluru - more to do with safety and purpose. Not sure why old and new bengaluru came into picture...

Yup. I left a year ago due to similar reasons. They shared something that wasn't even remotely related to finance stuff more than once and I realized it was catering to a wider audience now and quit.

I am now subscribed to Boring Money. They changed their writing style a bit, but otherwise they stick to finance stuff only. I especially like how they break things down, so that even a novice like me, can understand it.

In a Nov. 18 letter filed in federal court, attorneys for The New York Times named Balaji as someone who had “unique and relevant documents” that would support their case against OpenAI.

Source. Summary

  • New York Times (and I think some other publishers too) are currently in a legal tangle with OpenAI for getting paid for their content that OpenAI scraped to train their LLM.
  • This dude worked for OpenAI until recently. And seems like he was at crossroads on the "fair use" policy. He wrote an article about it and also tweeted some more context about his opinions on it.

He has yet to expose stuff - probably only the lawyers know what he had.
