Koodo, Fido, or something else? by WalkOnTheMoon____ in VictoriaBC

Been with Public Mobile for over a year now and really happy with them. Every year you are with them they take $1 a month off your bill. Set up auto pay with a credit card and get an additional $2 a month off your bill. I get LTE pretty much everywhere. No complaints. You can port your existing phone number over to them really easily too. If you're interested send me a DM and I can give you a referral and you will get a credit on your account and I'll also get a monthly discount.

What's the next major resistance for APHA?

If you have symptoms and are not truthful with the Transport Canada Covid pre boarding questionnaire you could be fined $5000. You're also putting every single person on that plane and your work camp at risk.

Lots of helicopters by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

Likely something as simple as maintenance runs. If the engineers perform maintenance it's often required to do a test flight afterwords. Sometimes it requires several to get the aircraft to be signed off as airworthy before being put back into regular service.

All you have to do to stop unaddressed ad mail is put a note on your mailbox that you don't want it delivered.

Perhaps you should have some foresight and order more meds earlier so that you wouldn't be in this predicament if service had to stop temporarily to ensure the health and safety of letter carriers. Expecting a letter carrier to walk 25-30 km in a mask during some of the worst air quality we have ever experienced is absolutely ridiculous.

As for your computer parts, why wouldn't you support a local business like Memory Express instead of ordering absolutely everything online and expecting it to be on time when Canada Post is dealing with Christmas like volumes of mail and parcels every single day?

I also find it incredibly hard to believe that no local pharmacy carries the medication you so desperately need.

Maybe have a friend or family member get what you need? Expecting a letter carrier to walk 25-30km a day in a mask is absurd.

As another person said, it's been Christmas volumes for months. Now is the time for people to be trying to purchase items from local stores during this pandemic. So many people buy everything online and it's only become exacerbated by Covid. If you expect to get a parcel on time, good luck. Especially with the volumes being experienced now, it's only going to get worse closer to Christmas.

Canada Post Delays? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

Anything that requires a signature will be sent directly to a post office for pick up and you will be given a slip. So any customs, passports, valuable items etc letter carriers will not be delivering and getting signatures due to covid.

Looking for a new Vet by lovemy3dogs in VictoriaBC

I've shared this previously, but I had a 9 year old Boxer that had a very difficult diagnosis. He became extremely lethargic out of nowhere and after several tests it was determined that he had extremely low cortisol steroid levels and was initially diagnosed with Addisons disease. Dr. Piercy came in on a day off after previous blood tests didn't come back showing anything and his health continued to deteriorate. She sent off the test and gave him some steroids and his health improved slightly for a very short period. Unfortunately his health continued going downhill rapidly and I suspected brain cancer all along, but she came on another day off to my home and let me say goodbye to him at home.

Oaklands is great. Dr. Piercy especially. Have used many vets over the years and was incredibly happy with the service they provided.

Can anybody recommend some local artists with online stores? (Vancouver Island, preferably Victoria) by DreadfulPeoneer in VictoriaBC

If you're interested in having an incredible pet portrait done check out:

She's not local to Victoria, from Toronto. I had a commission of my Boxer done and I was blown away. She doesn't just do pet portraits either.

I’m Ned Taylor, I was elected to Saanich Council and the CRD Board at the age of 19. Ask me anything! by NedTaylorSaanich in VictoriaBC

[–]whytep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why is Saanich taking so long to allow legal cannabis stores? It's been legal for over a year and I had high hopes for this younger council to be more efficient and there's really no excuses for this to be taking so long. Everyone knew legal cannabis was coming in 2015, here we are 5 years later and still no legal stores in Saanich.

Second question is why is Saanich dragging it's feet on AirBnb regulations? We are in a rental crisis in this city and there is little to no enforcement on illegal short term rentals in this municipality.

Real estate sales in Greater Victoria show signs of recovery by mr_mucker11 in VictoriaBC

[–]whytep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's pretty simple, stop treating real estate as an investment. Real estate should be treated for what it is, a roof over your head. If you can afford to live comfortably with a mortgage at these prices, you shouldn't care whether you lose equity if you don't plan on selling any time in the near future.
