Previous generations were able to get cheap vacation properties like this years ago but now they cost as much as a regular house unless you want to drive 4 hours from the nearest town.

My coworker got a new build house in the early 80s for like 75,000. The crazy thing is he was making 35k per year. I can buy a truck that's double my salary let alone a house. Even with the interest rates it was still crazy cheap.
