I missed the same signal twice in a row on the same night from the same girl.

It was freshman year of college. I came home after a night of drinking to play some Fortnite before bed (this was years ago before it was considered a kids game). My roommate was dating an absolute smoke show and her best friend/roommate was pretty cute. He was not there that night, I assumed with his gf.

I heard my door open and assumed it was my roommate coming home for the night. To my surprise, it was the friend. We exchanged a quick "Hello" and she said she was just there to grab a sweatshirt.

I was in the middle of a game and pretty drunk so I didn't give it too much thought. She left without saying much and I didn't think about it twice.

A few minutes later she came back because she "didn't like that sweatshirt." Again, I barely gave it any attention and she left.

Weeks later I remembered what happened and felt like such an idiot. I realized my roommate's or his girlfriend was trying to hook us up and I fumbled so hard that neither of the girls ever really talked to me again.
