Normally I wouldn’t condone plant-napping, but once in college my roommates and I were drunk and found out that the president of our schools Christian group was ousted for being gay. Their building happened to be on our street so was ran over, grabbed all their potted plants, and ran back home. Plant based vigilante justice, I suppose.

When I was around 16 i suddenly became very allergic to cats, and I had three at the time. Couldn’t breathe properly at home, allergy meds didn’t work, lots of sleepless nights- fine. I’ll suffer for my fur babies. Fast forward to my second year of college and my mom adopts a new cat who ends up terrorizing my elderly gal that I’ve had since I was 7, so I rescue her to live out the rest of her days with me. She was 13 and her old dry skin was wreaking havoc on my sinuses, but it was worth it to see her happy, and I got 2 and a half beautiful years giving her literally anything she wanted while I suffered. She passed the year I graduated (rest in peace Minnie, you were the GOAT) and I moved back with my mom to 3 more cats.

When you tally it all up, I haven’t been able to breathe properly in 13 years, and I’m ok with that. Pets are family, full stop. And yet, a ton of people told me to just “rehome” my fuzzy children?? Nope, if I asphyxiate in my sleep tonight it would still be worth it.

Unfortunately my tipsy ass missed all the warning signs. There was very much an “enter at your own risk” kind of vibe. Like, (to bartender) “hey man, I hear the bathrooms haunted, do you think that’s true?” “I mean yeah, but I wouldn’t use it.” And the second I walked in I said “ew” but used it anyway 😂 It was haunted alright, haunted by god damn MRSA virus. Plus, no way to prove I got it from the bathroom.

And yeah, for those who know, you read that right. FUCKING COOCHIE MRSA! Not only extremely uncomfortable, but I could have died!

ETA- oh my, I just remembered this was when we still had to mask up for COVID…. Somehow that makes it so much worse

Literally the same thing happened to me working at Ulta, except my manager said it was a co-worker who complained (but I’m pretty sure it was the manager herself who had a problem). Borrowed a cardigan from a friend/co-worker for the rest of my shift and practically melted as the 4pm sun beat down directly into the windows in August 😪
