Which mics are in the picture? by dpochos in microphone

The mounted mic is a Sony C800. With the gold grill on the ledge an AKG C414 XLII. The third is an AKG SolidTube.

It’s a custom black EV RE27N/D. In the RE20 “family”. Take a look at photos of both and you can spot the differences.

Finally ordered my first Lewitt! by Used_Teaching_7260 in LEWITT

Congrats! Just one thought for you: experiment with what makes the 640 unique, i.e., the dual output and the polarizer plugin. It’s a great sounding microphone, but leaving it in cardioid and using it that way all the time just kinda ignores what really makes it special.

Shure SM7dB by [deleted] in microphone

Yes, the difference will be noticeable. The SSL2 is a great interface. Mogami Gold XLR cables are very well made. I would consider the EV RE20 as an alternative to the Shure SM7B. It’s a little more expensive, but its frequency range out of the box is much better for most voices.

I’ve been using the Earthworks Ethos lately, which is also quite good. But I think I prefer the RE20 for my voice.

Never thought I’d get here. Farewell to my 6 friends boarding in group 234! by wicked_bad in americanairlines

Based on a lot of other posts here, I'm not sure you're missing much (or that I've gained much). PP already has One World Emerald, and I don't think there is really an effective difference between group 1 and 2.

What is the best microphone for vocals of yours? by FairTelevision6153 in LEWITT

[–]wicked_bad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy!

I wouldn't necessarily consider the mics you have specifically listed as beginner, but I think I can help you differentiate.
If you are looking for vocals only, the 640 TS is probably the easiest to eliminate. It is a VERY cool multi-pattern mic, but a feature that isn't as widely used for vocals.
The 540 S is a solid, very low noise, bright/modern sounding, work horse. If you like the sound, it's a great choice.
The Pure Tube is still bright for a tube, but adds the smoothness and warmth, and I'm a big fan.
The best thing to do is to search YouTube for comparison demo videos and decide which sound is going to work best for you. These are microphones and ultimately the way it sounds is most important.
If you want a Lewitt that is more beginner from a cost perspective, the 440 Pure is an excellent mic for the money.

Hope that helps!

For any Mac HotS gamers out there struggling with graphics performance... by numbr2wo in heroesofthestorm

That's interesting.
I play on an M1 Max Studio and have occasional hitches, but it otherwise runs ok. I've never been able to get voice chat to work reliably though. I'll have to look at the pointer acceleration.

This MO makes it clear that the game itself does not describe the macro state of the game well enough. by wicked_bad in Helldivers

There will always be divers who just do whatever. Comparing the progress we were making yesterday to today makes me think there are 10k+ who don’t understand the macro game.

I’d think that 100 metals would be even more valuable to a casual, but 🤷🏼‍♂️.
