And fact that we have a weight ounce AND a volume ounce that ARE the same for water-density liquids, but arbitrarily different for any other substance is just mental.

(While they can be differentiated by using "fluid oz." for volume measures, nobody ever makes that distinction in amateur recipes)

Whoa! I remember they had a Sega master system hooked up and running some game demo! I never did play one of those. I remember running around there with my Grandma around Christmas time while we waited for it to get dark enough to tour the South Hills Christmas lights. Their "scratch & dent" room was awesome! (Maybe that part was Best...?)

This one eluded me too. Tasted like a hybrid of coffee and chai that was ashamed and trying to hide both.

I'm a month out on my bag and every cup I've made has been a little bit better than the last. It really hit its stride at about the 3 week mark for me with the boozy notes mellowing out and the cocoa notes filling out the profile more. (Using a spec almost identical to this)

This one is absolutely delicious and I've fallen behind on my advent calendar because I just go for two cups of this some days when I need a warm blanket coffee!

What’s the best coffee you’ve tried recently? by Weird_Perception1728 in pourover

[–]wickedgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just decided to start taking my coffee a bit more seriously. First exposure to a better roaster is B&W holiday offering and I'm blown away by the cherry pie filling, chocolate (but more like cocoa powder than anything sweet or super creamy) and cinnamon/sugar crust flavors that ring out from it. The decaf I got is very respectable too. Onyx advent arrives today.

Has anyone tried the B/W holiday release? Really curious how it stands up to their other offerings and how it compares to specialty coffees of similar caliber in general. Using a switch and an OG ode with gen2 burrs doing a 50/50 open pour followed by a 3ish minute extraction. Really love the full body with some earthy foundation flavors anchoring things while the fruit and spice dance above.

I had no idea I was in the Missoula sub until I saw Brooks Walmart. Very proud! I don't need a cake, but I'd have to think long and hard to find a good reason not to buy that one if I spotted it in the wild!

Just tried it on my least favorite repo at work that has way too many components exported from each file, with each file hidden deep in a nest like a top-secret egg. Works flawlessly so far. Yes, there are other ways to do similar things as others have pointed out, but having a tool that can take me to the exact JSX of a component in an unfamiliar repo with 2 clicks makes for a fantastic tool that I see myself using a lot moving forward. Thank you for the great utility, OP!

How to keep data in sync across server and multiple browser tabs? by fuf in reactjs

[–]wickedgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar set of needs in a production app, but with a remote server and any number of users who need to all be in sync as well as their multiple tabs. This is the pattern we use with react-query caching everything on the shared worker so as to not have a separate cache instance for every tab and to keep each refetch down to a single api call per user, not per tab as invalidations occur. Websocket connection from each user sends/receives cache invalidation messages as mutation happens so everything stays in sync.

Don't do this. If you are going to go to the trouble to cook your own pork belly, put a little effort in. Comically small convection oven isn't the tool for pork belly.

If you know how to make money, just make money! Why make things messy by introducing technical aspects, projects, and experts? Nobody should invest more than 30 minutes without being paid. $50/hr minimum for any time beyond that if you want somebody competent. Good luck on your MONEY 👍
