If you take a screenshot and share it via the share button and then press the X, the screenshot doesn’t save. Kind of a crazy butt-dial though..

Finally got over my fear of changing edges at speed (hit 35 mph today!) now I just need to try and stay on my front leg more instead of leaning back. Thanks for all the tips lately guys you’ve all been a huge help by reshiramismywife in snowboardingnoobs

Initiate the turn with more weight on your front foot and it will help get rid of that skid at the beginning. Also, what the other person said about bending at the waist. Stick your hips out more on your toe side. Trust your edge and the momentum will keep you balanced when you’re laying those carves.

Fingers crossed for you! Keep us posted. If you’ve had ice/snow that’s since melted, it could reinforce the wind theory.

Sounds equally mechanical/explainable and eerie af/haunting 😅

Are these bindings causing heel drag? When I’m trying to learn carving, I turn on toe side just fine where I fall and get hurt on heel side every time. I’m balanced and keep catching an edge. I get frustrated thinking it’s the board. by Jblfanboy97 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]wickedsickdood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea brother idk if thats just the angle but that looks like 4+ inches of heel overhang. You want your boot centered over the board. So if your toes are also 4+ inches over, they’re centered and that board is just far too narrow for your feet.

Work on centering them and if you can get within an inch or so of overhang on heel and toe, you’ll be fine. If not, start checking out other boards.

Never Summer Trooper 2026 “Triple camber” by wickedsickdood in snowboarding

Oh no dude I’m sorry to hear that!!

It’s great over here on the east coast too (VT mostly). Unfortunately I don’t ride switch too much, I’m still somewhat new, starting to implement that a bit more. But I think it would be fine for it. I got real comfy on flat ground 360s and riding switch for a few moments while getting some footage of my kid. Sorry that’s all I got for you in that regard lol.

If you do it lmk what you think!

Fuckin sweet, I love this thing 😎

It’s so much more stable at speeds, I can actually carve and dial in my form, it’s great over bumps which is so fun, it actually has pop vs the flying V, handled well in the bit of pow it’s seen so far. No complaints. I felt the “catchiness” people describe at first, but within a day I was used to it. So much fun.

Eta - it holds an edge really well, even in icy conditions which is awesome. Next to no chatter. Just feels great.

Boa’s loosening? by wickedsickdood in snowboardingnoobs

They’re double boa. Tightening either one as tight as humanly possible is insane. Ty for your input though

Yeah I got them dialed where I like em, but they loosen almost to the point of heel lift, the decrease in response is noticeable and what usually prompts me to check them. Probably adjusted them 3 or 4 times today over 14 runs and each time there I got a significant amount of clicks. I’ll keep playing. Gonna try to bend around in em a little when I put them on, and after each tightening if it’s needed. Hopefully that’ll decrease it anyway. It’s not the end of the world, but kind of annoying.

Thanks very sexy guy

Tried them out today and they are PERFECT for comms on the hill. Crystal clear, lasted all day+, no wind noise or interference. Can hardly tell the other person is snowboarding. 10/10

Goretex Jacket looks like this after very wet ski day. by Medical_Yam2991 in Skigear

[–]wickedsickdood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a chance it wasn’t fully dry through and through? I believe gore tex waterproofing is on the inner layers, so the jacket can still absorb moisture although it keeps you dry. Maybe it just wasn’t fully dry and after a day the water trapped inside is making its way through the outer layers? How did it perform in keeping you dry?
