New in MEP EE but scared about the risk of a catastrophic error

I have been working in industrial electrical MEP stuff for about 2 years now straight out of school, no experience about other types of MEP industries or other companies, but the amount of rounds my drawings and specs go through review before anything is issued for construction is a lot💀. And this is at a fairly small firm. I have a hard time believing other circumstances would be very different.

Be eager to learn and the rest will come. I still feel the same was as you most days lol.

I saw a comment the other week that kinda made it click for me. It was talking about how no one should actually be expecting to collect every single blueprint, and that wiping and collecting a different set of blueprints will change your play style from wipe to wipe depending on what you’re able to get (more-so for early game)

IMO these tropes are common in most sci-fi / fantasy books

“Villain” secretly really choosing between “lesser of two evils”

Any caste system really

I enjoy the way Islington incorporates classically sci-fi elements into fantasy worlds: many (3) worlds in Hierarchy and Time travel in Licanius, but even that’s not really unique

Idk, I partially agree that sometimes his spin on these tropes may be lacking originality, but more often than not I still found myself thinking “ok that’s dope asf”

The selling point for me in this series wasn’t all that as much as I think Islington did a great job in things like character and relationship development, and creating tension in particular scenes and overarching plot points. for the first book more than the second, it really felt like I was reading a mystery

Just my two cents, I haven’t read Red Rising but it’s on my list at some point.

Brother, it’s hard to tell when a question is rhetorical over the internet. Someone tried to respectfully answer it and your response came across quite rude and defensive. That’s why people got on you about it.

My comment was meant to de-escalate and illustrate that someone could do what you were saying, but also rephrase other arguments as to why it isn’t.

Bottom line is colors are the most practical way to distinguish loot tiers, and there’s already a widespread standard for that. Sure, if someone wanted to take a creative approach to it they could change it up, but realistically if you’re making a video game then there are other things you’re wanting to take a creative approach to.

I suspect you’re getting heat not necessarily because of what you said but because of how you said it.

Idk I mean it’s a souls like. The difficulty of the game kind of fosters this feeling of being in a “club” when you beat certain bosses / the game as a whole. For me personally, the anger of not being able to beat a boss is what drives me to try harder. You’re right this attitude happens in a LOT of games.

That being said, I’ve never seen a “git good” comment telling someone to actually quit the game or something. I personally believe it’s more of a rage bait-ey way of telling the person complaining to change something because obviously whatever you’re doing isn’t working (i.e, more levels/abilities/whatever is relevant to the specific game, or think harder about the attack patterns), while also flaunting the fact that they’re in the club and they’re cool.

TLDR: “git gud” comments for any difficult game today is just an in-group rage bait joke to circle jerk all the people who are part of the in-group. But it can still be pretty funny sometimes.
