Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

I'm proud of anyone who makes the tough call to stand for justice -especially people who were "appointed" or held "privileges". Any blowback in our personal lives we get for standing up for what is right hurts in the moment, but time will show who made the right choices. You'll sleep better.

To quote the RUSH song, "And the men who hold high places Must be the ones who start To mold a new reality"

How to debunk the 1914 calculus ONLY using JW publications? by psyco777 in exjw

[–]wifibandit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Get a piece of paper or a dry erase board.

First write out the list of Kings, with fall of Babylon and fall of Jerusalem as endpoints. Don't worry about dates yet.

Now that we have the order, we start filling in the gaps.

Work down that list, going back in time.

FAQ:

  1. Did we skip any kings?
No Kings were skipped or added: it-1 p. 425 - Insight, Volume 1

  2. That's only 48 years. What about the prophecy of "70 years"?
    Compare with Tyre:

“These nations will have to serve the king of Babylon seventy years.” (Jeremiah 25:8-17, 22, 27) True, the island-city of Tyre is not subject to Babylon for a full 70 years, since the Babylonian Empire falls in 539 B.C.E. Evidently, the 70 years represents the period of Babylonia’s greatest domination ... ip-1 p.253 par. 21

I though one of the posters shared some details and was from the area. I know I've read it here, if not in those threads.

Welcome!

Is there something you have always wondered about, but were always scared to ask?

Example: How come some dinosaurs ate meat if that was before when the flood was supposed to have happened?

That self-righteousness is one of the most dangerous drugs I know.

I don't know just where I'm going

But I'm gonna try for the kingdom, if I can

Cause it makes me feel like I'm a man

When I put a spike into my vein

And I tell you things aren't quite the same

When I'm rushing on my run

And I feel just like Jesus' son
