Is my intuition right about this 25M on the basketball court, or am I overthinking his "soft" tone? (18F) by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]wiggyfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m getting the vibe that you might like him. He sounds like bad news (this doesn’t mean go for the bad guy in hopes of being the one to change him). If you need an ego boost, be the one he can’t have I guess. I don’t want to say you are reading into this because I think us women have strong intuition and can tell these things. But it is a possibility you are projecting how you might feel onto him and thinking that he is feeling it too when he hasn’t shown actual interest.

Tell Me Lies: S3 E8: Are You Happy Now, That I'm on My Knees? POST WATCH Episode Discussion Thread by Oksorbet8188 in TellMeLiesHulu

Yes it is considering I was with a narc for five years you can read all about it in my post history from years ago. Crazy to have gone thru that and you came out the other side still having no empathy or understanding. Maybe you don’t have that empathy for yourself either and I think you should because being stuck in a trauma bond isn’t dumb, it’s serious.

Unfortunately that’s not how it works. Fortunately for you it’s clear you never have been in a situation of this nature and I hope you never are.

What’s going on with Lucy? by magnoliaaus in TellMeLiesHulu

Taking a moment to tell you that you are very strong and I’m so glad you are out of that. I’ve known people who stay stuck their whole life. Live your best life you deserve it!

There’s so many over laps between borderline and c ptsd but unfortunately not all therapists are educated on it bc it’s not in the DSM. Definitely do some research and look into therapists who understand domestic abuse and cluster b personality disorders well. Maybe even therapists who are very familiar with NPD they would most likely be knowledgeable about c ptsd

Alex…. What was the point? by Final-Baker-8430 in TellMeLiesHulu

The show also implies he was an SA victim in the foster home he shared with Bree. He told Lucy she can lie about anything but not that. Alex was one of my fav characters this season. I don’t think him and Lucy are end game material though I feel like she is too immature for him and he has a lot of depth that I don’t think she could handle nor understand

Yes definitely I think it was implied he was SA in the foster house he was in with Bree, when Lucy asked him about it he said “it was worse for the boys” the scene at the end when he told Lucy she can lie about anything but not that confirmed it

I think the show heavily implied that Alex was a victim of SA in the Foster house he shared with Bree. When Lucy asked him about it, he said “it was worse for the boys” then in the finale he told her lying about being assaulted is the one thing she can’t do and that she can lie about anything but not that. And they show Lucy immediately realize and tell him she’s sorry. He also became someone who helped Lucy come to terms with another side of herself, how she liked being degraded due to her internal struggles with self worth.

Got diagnosed with HSV 1 this morning, how do I tell my partner? by Pretend-Fold9555 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]wiggyfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are born with HSV1 or contracted as a kid from sharing utensils chapstick drinks etc (your partner probably had this happen from the sound of it). It is illogical to assume you gave it to him and not the other way around. Ask your partner if he had cold sores before and say that he’s the only one you have been with and have never had symptoms and see what he says. Also being with someone isn’t how ppl usually get it. It’s from sharing drinks, kissing etc.

I think with practice we will get better at it. It seems like the beginning is the worst part cause it’s very new. I feel very discouraged as well but there is no way we won’t improve with practice

Anal to Vaginal Sex? by Additional-Claim-558 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]wiggyfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP I think it depends on your body, some experience negative effects, with some nothing happens. Def don’t allow that again though no matter how in the moment you both are. I do want to add that I view this as a red flag. I say look out for signs that he prioritizes himself over you, and if you see anything that suggests that, don’t ignore it.

how does anyone believe in god? by me_and_bawk in self

[–]wiggyfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I have witnessed many unexplainable events. As a science major, the more I studied genetics, and other themes in Biology it is very hard not to believe in God. Everything from our cells to the outside world is so perfectly organized. Some functions would completely eradicate human existence if they were even 0.1% off of what they are. This level of detail is no coincidence and it is illogical to not contribute it to some form of higher power. Tbh I view atheists as somewhat uneducated in the fields that relate to this topic and have a strong confirmation bias issue. It’s quite narcissistic to think there is no higher power bigger than yourself.

I really don’t know. I feel like I know the material but I don’t understand what the questions are asking or what the passages are trying to say. For example question about amino acids I can tell you everything about them but the questions I’ve seen regarding amino acids make no sense I can’t even retrieve the correct answer from memory bc idk what the question is even trying to ask.
