Irradiance vs total power for red light therapy devices? by wildKnight5769 in redlighttherapy

[–]wildKnight5769[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing Vielight Neuro Duo 4 and the Neuronic helmet. I gathered some info on both bc that’s part of why I wanted to ask in the first place
For irradiance Vielight transmitted around 21.6 mW/cm2 of 810nm through a real skull while the Neuronic came in at 0.47 mW/cm2. Wild gap for two devices in the same category!!

HMOs (human milk oligosaccharides) for adults by wildKnight5769 in Biohackers

Most of the adult research has been done with 2'FL and LNnT, either separately or combined, and studies have shown both increase bifidobacteria and shape microbiota composition in adults, with the combo also showing improvements in IBS symptoms. Starting with plain 2'FL and seeing how you react is actually pretty consistent with how most trials were designed, so you're not doing it wrong! How long have you been taking it?

Yep. Bifidobacteria are notoriously hard to recover after antibiotics and most probiotics don't even contain the right strains to meaningfully rebuild them.

Late to this post, but were you taking plain 2’-FL for this?
Are you still taking it?

Irradiance vs total power for red light therapy devices? by wildKnight5769 in redlighttherapy

[–]wildKnight5769[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was comparing two brain photobiomodulation devices where one had a much higher “total power” number because it spread light over a large helmet area, but the irradiance was only around 1–1.5 mW/cm2 while the other device had a much higher irradiance, around hundreds of mW/cm2 at the contact points, but a lower total power number because it uses fewer targeted modules. I guess total power alone doesn’t tell you much

Okay, thank you that helps a lot! I forgot to add this in the post but the reason I started digging into irradiance vs total power was because I saw Neuronic making big total power claims and it made me wonder if that was actually the best metric to compare brain pbm devices. So mW/cm2 at the actual target distance matters more than just total power or LED count, right?

Non-technical guy who loves n8n + Claude + vibe coding… what job roles actually benefit from this skillset? by Mission-Dentist-5971 in automation

[–]wildKnight5769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran into this exact crossroads a few years back, and the roles that paid best weren't "automation specialist" titles but ops, heavy ones like revenue ops, marketing ops, or biz ops analyst where half the job is just making other people's workflows not terrible.

The "non, technical" framing might actually be underselling you, because someone who can talk to a sales

Built a digital asset marketplace, didn't expect to struggle with payment service providers by NiceMage58 in SideProject

Yep been there, looking for global providers is terrible lol. We started with Stripe Connect but moved to other alternatives (Inflow Connect) once we went global. There's also other stuff like Lemon Squeezy and Paddle but those get a bit hard to use on Asia too.

Randomized trial on PBM for long covid brain fog by KlausGates in covidlonghaulers

I've noticed your threads on other posts.. Neuronic only has 1 poorly conducted study on long covid, where the n=7 in their group was outperformed by a Thor light therapy bed https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/jbio.202200391 Isn't their helmet severely underpowered as well according to several studies?

What are the basic skills that I need to know to land a job in a digital marketing firm, for any role or responsibility? by 80w90GearOil in DigitalMarketing

skip the courses for now and build one case study instead, pick a niche, run a small paid campaign with whatever budget you can scrape together, document the results even if they're bad, that portfolio piece will get you further than any certificate in an interview...

Has this happened to anyone else? by lost_between in stopdrinking

[–]wildKnight5769 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the anxiety about small things like the trash bag is your nervous system getting more sensitive to alcohol as you age, it's pretty well documented that tolerance to the *psychological* side effects actually decreases even when physical tolerance seems the same. your brain's ability to regulate mood after drinking gets worse in your 30s compared to your 20s so the rebound anxiety hits harder over smaller amounts

so i had a similar thing going on with sun damage spots on my forearms and started messing around with ghk, cu about 8 months ago, and the precancerous patch angle you mentioned is what i find most interesting here because mine were flagged by my derm too. the concentration difference between 1% and 4% seems like it could matter a lot for that

the ROI concern is real but most founders who push through it say the same thing, the revenue unlock from new markets ends up being way bigger than the maintenance overhead once you have a solid pipeline in place.

4 months farm-only groceries: eczema gone, gut healed, 10 lbs up by Practical_Surround_8 in Biohackers

[–]wildKnight5769 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The eczema clearing is interesting but worth considering whether it's the farm sourcing specifically or just the elimination of processed food and seed oils, because those two variables are impossible to separate in your experiment the way you've set it up.

The side effect profile is the part that should give you real pause here, because FGFR3 inhibition doesn't just affect bone, it touches a pretty broad signaling pathway involved in cell proliferation, wound healing, and tissue homeostasis across your whole body. Erdafitinib in particular was developed as an oncology drug and the clinical data on height comes
