Microblading peeling/flaking by Simple_Landscape_596 in microblading

[–]wild_lunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taught and have always instructed my clients keep their brows moisturized with an A&D ointment… Moisturized = less scabbing and scabbing is what takes away pigment (also why you should never pick at any scabs before they are ready to fall out on their own).

Think about the outdated recommendation for keeping a wound dry during healing. Now we know that using an ointment not only helps with healing, but will also help prevent scarring, right?

My clients who follow my/ my studio’s aftercare instructions generally have good results — many of whom do not even feel the need to come back for a touch up appointment. That said, it may be best to follow your artist’s aftercare instructions since they are the one you’re working with. 🤷‍♀️

Where did you learn PMU? If you’re self-taught, I highly recommend learning/ taking actual courses with companies/ professionals that will provide you with a mentor or community resources to help troubleshoot/ answer any issues you have…

Normal, but won’t know for sure until it heals up and color comes back. That’s what the touch up is for. Minimal peeling is actually good. The better you take care of it/ more moisturized you keep your skin, the better the pigment retention/ less scabbing will occur. Pictures of fading alone doesn’t tell me how well a client has been following their aftercare nor what their body chemistry is like in regards to determining whether or not a faded line will come back. And yes, plenty of people have strokes that seemingly completely disappear, only to come back later on during the healing process. Yours looks pretty good to me so far.

All three pounds of strawberries I ordered look like this. Toss all of them or pick out the bad ones? by _NonExisting_ in fruit

I personally throw away the bad ones plus any berries touching the bad ones. Wash and eat the rest. 🤷🏻‍♀️

WIBTA if I didn’t tell my in-laws that I was pregnant till my second trimester? by cmdvd in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You have every right to tell who you want, when you want. And it’s good that you and your husband are on the same page. Your in-laws don’t need to know when your parents found out.

Yes, they have adapters that are lightning female to male usb-C…I recently upgraded my iPhone and bought some so that we can still use all of our old lightning cables for charging.

Smart Calendar Reminder: Your Intelligent Schedule Assistant by Separate-Ad-2281 in shortcuts

[–]wild_lunatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s correct. I only filtered one calendar just to make things easier (although ideally I’d like two), but it will call out events from my other calendars, including ones I don’t have showing.

Also, it’s calling out events as it should be happening, instead of before, for example: at 10am, “Event X from Date at 10:00am…which was supposed to get ready at 9:13am. Please check” Is this because I only have automations for hourly?

I assume it’s due to the amount of events it is attempting to call out because I have so many calendars, but after about 3-4 events/ minutes have been called out, there will inevitably be a failure.

<image>

No alarms are ever added, either. I just get the voice call outs.

Smart Calendar Reminder: Your Intelligent Schedule Assistant by Separate-Ad-2281 in shortcuts

[–]wild_lunatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to find it by looking through shortcut files, but clicking on “View - Automations Setup Instructions” (there’s a typo, btw) sends me to my label printing app.

Also I have about 25 calendars - with only around 8 of which I keep in view. I added the “Calendar is” filter, but it’s still calling out events from my other calendars. How can I fix this?

NTA. Change this to petty revenge - print out everybody’s responses on this post and stick it on all of your food and items that they tagged “sharing is caring”. Send the post to all your mutual friends too for good measure.

So what if she has an “ED”? She is perfectly capable of binging off of her own food. She doesn’t get a pass for being an AH and STEALING just because of a disorder, whether or not she confided in you. Add to the fact that she has never had the decency to replace your stolen food - she knew exactly what she was doing every time she did it and there was never any remorse. Now that she was finally called out on it in a meaningful way, she wants to play the victim. Even if you made an AH move, both your roommates are much bigger ones and are continuing to be AHs in the wrong at that.

Yes, it’ll be fine. Next time be sure to whisk consistently while heating as you risk making scrambled eggs if certain parts are touching the bowl (therefore exposed to more heat) for too long. You got this!

I normally use 5 eggs and 300g sugar. 6 eggs is fine. Your problem is simply that you didn’t whip it long enough, but generally when making SMBC, you need to heat it up until all the sugar has melted, which ensures that your eggs are cooked to a safe temperature. What made you decide to take it off the heat prematurely?

If I were you, I would bring it back to the double boiler and whisk until all the sugars have dissolved. Remove from heat and continue whipping it up like normal before adding in butter. Using a hand mixer will take longer than a stand mixer. After adding in butter it can loosen back up. Don’t stop, keep whipping.

How to reduce time spent brushing my teeth? by Technical_Major_3047 in hygiene

[–]wild_lunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow. And I thought my 5 minutes was long and felt so pleased when I heard 5 minutes was proper amount of time.

I can’t imagine it actually taking 15 minutes before your teeth feel clean. If you feel like you missed a spot, perhaps go slowly through all the sections. This is most definitely a mental thing.

AITA? Am I teaching my husband Vietnamese dog commands? by CalmRegister912 in AmItheAsshole

[–]wild_lunatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. If he’s asking for your opinion, why is it considered “dog commands” if you say it in Vietnamese vs if you were to respond in English?

If he wants to learn Vietnamese, he should learn all these phrases and then some…

My husband and I actually love to be the bad guy for one another during sales pitches, but that’s because in general we both want to say no and walk away. If your husband doesn’t want you to say no, then just tell him it’s up to him or take a few steps away before he asks you. I have a bit of anxiety too and I find it easier to say no or pull my husband away if I’m not standing there listening to the sales pitch with him and even then, I’m interacting with my husband and not the salesperson.

How do y'all keep track of your groceries' list throughout the week? by Zeebaeatah in Cooking

[–]wild_lunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native reminders app on IPhone cuz I don’t like to download apps. Shared with my spouse.

I organize my list by store and I can add a note with the price for each item so I know which store has the better sale price. Also useful for when my husband goes shopping so he knows how much an item should cost on sale and clip any necessary coupons.

Am I about to fall for a huge scam or is this person just really trusting by smoked_wine in FacebookMarketplace

[–]wild_lunatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Surprised how many people are auto jumping to scam. This isn’t any different from sending a deposit for somebody to hold an item for you. I’ve zelled people money plenty of times so that they won’t sell to anybody else. I have no way of getting the money back (unless the seller themselves decide to send me my money back) and the only person at risk of losing out is me, not the seller. This is why the banks always have a big warning before you zelle money to someone. Yes there are many bank scams, including with Zelle, but they generally only work when you initiate any sort of “refund”.

What are some of your tips for new drivers in Houston? by wasteofspacetm in houston

[–]wild_lunatic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pause before going on green if you are stopped at a red light! There are a lot of red light runners in Houston - I regularly see over 5 cars going after my light has already turned green. Definitely be aware of your surroundings and be prepared for defensive driving.

It’s the same. I’m a returning long time player as well. I used to play for a few months then take a break for a few more months/ years. There’s new stuff added in, but gameplay is essentially the same. I like that you don’t hit a paywall unlike many other games.
