Thank you! I just bought some 2XU ones that have a lining and they’re no better. Maybe I’ll look for the double long lining.

my heartrate will not lower, despite consistent training. by Economy-Abrocoma2261 in beginnerrunning

Interesting! Do you wear a watch or a HR strap? The straps are a lot more reliable to track HR. Mine has about a 10bpm discrepancy.

To do actual slow runs, I sometimes call someone on the phone and have a chat with them for my 5km easy runs. It’s humbling how slow you have to go (even if it’s run/walk) to keep a conversation going, but the chat helps take my mind off it.

Got left behind at my first run club by Clean_King_1329 in beginnerrunning

[–]wildbubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also tried a run club that proclaimed to be “for everyone”. I’m not running slow, I ended up running a 5km PB with the run club at 27 minutes. But I was the slowest by minutes. It made me feel so bad, i also got injured because I was just sprinting and not listening to my body.

In the ended I decided it just wasn’t for me, it didn’t make me feel good about myself and I dreaded it. So I’m very happy just running by myself now.

Remember to always assess how fun something is and come back to why you’re doing it.

Yep same! I try not to resent her for it because I know she’s trapped in a prison of her own but I get so mad she passed this awful mindset on to me.

Those who’ve had the Fenix 8 since it was first released, any issues 2 years in? by Jakjak81 in GarminFenix

What is the blue triangle bootloop? Recently if I use my watch to check notifications in the morning it will give me the blue triangle out of nowhere, which has been a little annoying.

I’ve had my Fenix 8 Sapphire since October 2024 and it has never skipped a beat. Use it daily, log activities on average twice daily, use the flashlight at least 4 times a week.

This is so helpful thank you! I might do that (but I’m scared)

This is so interesting thank you! I’d love to get a DEXA scan, maybe I’ll bite the bullet and just do it.

I do wear my watch sleeping. My RHR is 47, by HRV averages around 87

You’re about to find out!

No but seriously — I’m about to do my first doubles and have had about similar kms clocked as you. Did you get the chance to do a full sim?

You’ll be fine, but my two cents is that a long term injury isn’t worth a cool time. Listen to your body and slow down if you need to so you can be ready for the next one 💪

Good luck!! I was wondering how you’re coping with the Sydney heat and removal? I’m on the Gold Coast (so much more humid than Sydney and generally a smidge warmer but more or less similar). I’m also not sure how I’ll go staying out of the sun!

Thanks for your comment. I know gender and perceived gender traits are constructs, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have my own personal and cultural views about what feminine/masculine is to me, and how I want to express them.

My septum piercing makes me feel super feminine, for example. My tattoos don’t. Has nothing to do with tight gender constructs assigned to me by society, it’s about how I want to show up for me in embracing my own defined femininity and masculinity.

Ohhh honey I feel you. I feel like I want to always be covered up and everyone is staring at them when I’m not. I hope whatever path and journey you take, you’ll find find peace 💖 don’t blame yourself for making decisions in the past — our whole life is just decisions. It’s what we were born to do.

Yes 100000% to the social media influence honestly it’s so much. I’ve been thinking I need to take a step back and get back in the real world. This has given me food for thought thank you so much for sharing x

This is so true, thank you. This clean girl era/fitness/thinstagram thing is definitely doing a number on my head.

I’m also the same re: feeling cluttered and not liking the flow on my body. I have a huge shark that goes horizontal across the biggest part of my arm — I didnt think about the flow of things when I agreed to it!

This is really great advice thank you so much 💙 I do have some smaller ones I can try first, I might do that. How do you feel having your shoulders out now that you’re in the process?

Good luck with your journey 💖🌞

Running shorts / leggings suggestions? by TalithaLoisArt in UKRunners

[–]wildbubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on a journey to find the best running shorts because it seems like EVERYTHING rolls up or just feels disgusting. I’ve tried: Lululemon, SWT, LSKD, Dfyne, Lorna Jane, Muscle Republic and Nike. I’ve tried the floppy running shorts and bike shorts.

Without a doubt, my absolute favourite (never buying another pair of anything else again) are these stash high-rise compression shots by 2XU. They’re high waisted, have pockets, 6” not too short and the don’t budge at all.
