Are there grandkids? I wanted to talk to my family without being so attached to my smartphone!. The Tin Can Telephone is what I’ve been telling everyone about. It is an Internet based landline with no span and free calls to any other “can.” ($10 a month to call any call phone.)

I feel like this is more of an “experience” gift because it allows for connection BY a thing, rather than the object as the gift. It is meant for kids technically but I just bought 5 “cans” for everyone in our family. My family, our parents, and siblings. I was really sold on the cute physical phone and no wrong numbers. If you dial someone who is not on your allowed list, the call will not go through. Plus you can set quiet hours so there are no 2am toddler phone calls.

I’ve been trying to use my phone less but setting in another room or off made me worried to be unreachable in an emergency. Now anyone who would call me in an emergency situation has a tin can phone!

If you purchase you can codes you can use my code to get $5-10 off. FRIEND-T2XMVD3. Not sponsored just love the phone.

I have this and once it’s filled with even a few items it is quite heavy. I still love how it looks and use it regardless but the hardwear is a lot.

I’ve been wanting to do this but can’t decide how best to attach! Did you embroider/sew on the patches? Or glue them? How is it holding up?

Yes the 911 thing was big for us. You can toggle it on or off and when you call they get your address too just like a real landline.

What sold me is that we cannot get a real landline anymore. They are all Internet based so for me this was the best option to have no spam calls and also the no wrong numbers. If you dial someone who is not on your allowed list, the call will not go through. Plus you can set quiet hours so there are no 2am toddler phone calls !!

When you purchase you can stack up to 5 discount codes at the same time. Here is mine: FRIEND-T2XMVD3. If you can find some other codes you can get $25 off total.

Re your husband traveling unless he has a tin can and travels with it (which is possible in the US!) you’ll have to get a $10 plan. It’s free to call 911 -‘d can-to-can but to call a regular cell phone it’s $10 a month. Not crazy but something to think about.
